We received these before scheduled time(which is always nice), opened the boxes and went to work changing out our old crawl space vents that were 10 years old, and non-operational. Before we installed, we noticed two nipples on the bottom of the vent that stopped the door from closing properly all the way, and truly not sure why they are there, so I cut them off to allow the door to close properly. The door mechanism appears to work okay, but am unsure how long the plastic handle that holds the door open, will last year after year. That will be a test of time. The door hinges are flimsy, and am unsure in the winter time when the winds pick up, if the door will remain closed, or if I'm going to have to drill a couple small holes in the bottom of the door to insert a paper clip through to keep the door closed. On initial review, I like these, they're easily installed, the doors worked as they should, with the capability of closing them for the winter, in order to keep the crawl space from reaching freezing temps.

The product is quality. My complaint (and it was quite frustrating with 16 of these vents to install), was that there are four screws prevent and every one of these are a flat head that if one wants to complete the job and the timely manner would require a drill. Drilling flat head screws is excruciating and it's a very difficult angle on top of that. Please switch these to Phillips head or hex heads and it's an immediate five-star review.

Not the highest quality out there for sure, but great for the price. Relatively easy installation. Some of them took more effort than others to get the screws to thread through the vent properly which is why I gave them 4 stars instead of 5. Otherwise very good product.

The damper installed very easily. When the temperature is above 50 degrees Fahrenheit there were no issues opening and closing the vent. The problem I had was when the temperature got below freezing the vent was very brittle. When I tried to close the vent the arm that holds the vent opened snapped off. I had to be extremely careful with the other vents I install to keep the arm from breaking when I manually had to open and close when it is below freezing. If you need to frequently open and close the vent you should consider one that is sturdier.

I had a problem with the installed automatic vents never closing in the winter because the sun sets on the front of the house so I bought these manual vents. These vents are thin and easy to install just have to make sure when you want them open you push firm til you hear a click then they stay open if not strong wing will close them. Perfect for me

3 screws were missing, as well as lever for opening flap, and the integral mesh screen had a hole in it. Basically unusable. Waste of money.

The shipment was delivered on time and in good shape. The vent housing and damper materials are on the lean side but acceptable. The key issue is the installation of the vents! One screw was pre-screwed at each corner of the vent housing. The insulation should take 4 minutes! But the screws were so tight in the plastic walls, they refused to be turned by a regular screwdriver! I had to rig up a flat head bit with an extender on an electric drill, and with a lot of pressure slowly forced the screws in to engage the vent brick walls. In this process, the flat bit distorted and destroyed the screw heads! A 4 minutes installation turned out to be 40 minutes! The designers and engineers of this product most likely did not test out their own product!! I hope they read their customers’ review! This issue should be resolved very easily and effectively!

These vents were exactly what I needed. I was very impressed with the quality of the vents. If I need to replace any other vents in my foundation in the future, I will not hesitate to re-order the same vents. If you need this type of replacement vent, I highly recommend these to you.
