This was probably the best purchase I've made for my streaming setup. It holds my Shure SM7B perfectly. It is great. Explanation point. High quality and definitely recommend. Get the most expensive one they have, as the quality is far better than the other models. There is so much adjustability on this. It's heavy duty. And I've been using it for almost a year with zero issues. My other boom arm broke in only a few short months. I will have a video on this product page very soon as I'm doing a full video review. I highly recommend this. Do not think twice. It also has an LED that can be changed from blue to red or purple! Perfect for streamers or podcasts. I also use it to produce music as well.

I have done the research by comparing prices, range of movements, accessories etc. and after hours of detailed reviews, I have surmised the following. It feels sturdy and looks sturdy but some joint pieces are falling apart as per the review... And so as not to be a part of the problem, id like to suggest the following solution. The Brand Cap that is referenced as the letter G (seen in the Photo) place a screw in that position to keep not only the logo in place but also the entire joint in place. I'm still collecting pieces. You can purchase this product but the glue that is used to hold the G logo needs to be screwed in place. Probably gonna have to crazy glue this together. Updated - Oct 12, 2023 I've used the product for over sometime and I can give further reviews on this product. The solution I used was to purchase clear epoxy to hold the G in place. Works perfectly. This is a sturdy product but the range of movement is limited... The elbow doesn't allow it to bend beyond 40-30 degrees... hence you will have the Microphone hanging. Which proves it is really for radio studios. I restored to drilling holes in my table... maybe a 1/4 inch dremel bit that allows thr circlar mount to fit perfectly into/ unto the table. The clamp is great for square-edge tables not round edged... Moving this.product to.a 4 out of 5 stars...

A search during Prime Day showed this product as a result. The price was amazing so I jumped on the deal. When the package arrived a few days later I suddenly realized it was a refurb. Suprise! My heart sank. Before opening the box I went back to the site to check. Sure enough. That fact wasn't in the item description, but was instead shown above the add to cart button. Not exactly cool in my book. Feeling more than a little frustrated I opened the box. That's when the 2nd suprise, and nicer, surprise happened. The boom stand was in perfect condition. No scratches, no missing parts, like new, and ready to use. Gator makes quality gear. So new or used it gets 5-stars from me.

I had this Mic Boom Stand for 2 years during which I would occasionally use it. Then a cheap metal component that held the tension cable together broke causing the stand to become completely limp and useless. The outside looks like it is solidly built, but on the inside there are some very cheap components. You're only as good as your weakest link. For something I paid $144 for ($153 adjusted for inflation), you wouldn't expect it to have such a cheap component that is so vital to the functionality of the thing. Stability is fall down flat on it's face and possibly break your expensive equipment on the way down once the internal tension cable disconnects. Functionality is non-existent once the cheap metal part in it snaps into pieces. It's mountability was always a little tenuous. The outside is way over built and heavy for something that is so weak on the inside. Overall, very disappointed. Nothing like shoddy quality to ruin an otherwise decent, if overpriced product.

The clamp used to attach this boom to a desk is horrible. It doesn't work on the majority of desks bought off Amazon. The attachment clamp doesn't go deep enough to provide support, and yet it goes just deep enough that any desk with an support beam underneath (vast majority of desks available on Amazon) doesn't provide enough depth. Even if you can get half or 3/4 of the clamp on, it has a useless divot in the clamp that causes it to buckle under any weight. Speaking of weight, the force needed to move this arm is far too much for the clamp. Often, when moving the arm, you will need two hands and the force causes the unstable clamp on the desk to fold and slide off. Horrible design. You can loosen the arm, but you're still working up a sweat just moving the arm closer to you. The twists on each joint also provide no real change in tension. There's just no range to them. You turn them to lock it in place, or like the flip of a switch, you turn it and it's too loose, often with the arm snapping upwards in your face. This was such a waste of money, and honestly performs worse than the $35 mic arms you can buy on Amazon. At least then you know what you're getting. This mic arm is functionally useless. While you can make it work, the amount of time and patience needed (and the new desk that must meet very specific requirements to get the clamp seated correctly) just make this mic arm a complete waste of money.

The plastic on this unit is a crime for how much you pay. Your fingers will be in pain from twisting these knobs to get any amount of tension. Purchased May 26, 2021 for my Shure SM7B. Yesterday I came to my office and found the whole boom crashed. Main tension spool by the clamp completely gave out. Every single joint's plastic parts became unhinged. These are garbage. Reached out to Gator for warranty information but I am already on the market for something else. Luckily there have been a lot better options that have come out in the last 8 months.

This I can wholeheartedly say is better than the psa1+ the build quality is miles better and it handles heavy mics like a champ. The psa1+ is better if you move your mic constantly but this sucker is much nicer if you only move it a few times a day because it is more solid.

I like to wait to give reviews to properly test the product. I bought this in Nov 2022 and I love this Mic Stand. It's very sturdy, holds in any position I place it and easy to travel with and set up with its desktop clamp. Great value for the money and very strong. 100% would purchase again
