In America, a certain company has monopolized the spice market. Their spices are bland, and boring. This is not such a spice. This spice explodes with flavor. I bought the 16oz size. When it arrived, I moistened my finger, and had a taste. Wow!!! At first, the colors were subdued. Then, it hit me like a brick wall. I felt as if I was being transported to India, in a past life. After about 30 seconds, I was blown away by the heat. This curry is authentic. You may want to throw in a small pinch of sugar to your curried rice. This curry is not a machine. It comes from living herbs. I am positive that each production varies in flavor. Many factors affect how a spice tastes. It is only natural for mother nature change her clothing. Buy this curry. I am so happy that I bought a large size. The container will last a long time. It will be used in creative ways. The only limit is my imagination. When you make a plate, add a small thing that doesn't belong. Place a pickle or olive on top of your mashed-potatoes. Order some toothpick flags from Amazon, and sail them when you present a meal to your guests. If you want, you can steep four family sized tea bags in a gallon of hot water, add two packages of your favorite Kool-Aid, and add two cups of sugar. There is not much difference between a baked potato, and French fries. Drizzle butter on your French fries, and add some sour cream. I am going to sprinkle a tiny pinch of this curry on the fries. Everyone will be amazed. I highly recommend this product, and, in time, will try out every spice this company makes. This curry is made with love, and fills me with warmth. A win win. First place!!! I really like the quality of the seasoning blend on this curry. It tastes amazing and despite the label, it’s really not that spicy. Maybe about a level 5. It is very versatile, I can use it in Indian dishes, African dishes and even for some Caribbean curry dishes. It came properly sealed and the freshness you would expect. This canister lasts me about a year and still tastes great.

Great taste would recommend if you are a curry aficionado.

You know when you go out to a Thai or Indian restaurant and the menu shows those little peppers allowing you to order from one to five pepper "spiciness"? I always order 5 peppers. This stuff is not that, it's maybe a 2 pepper, at most if you use a lot it's 3. That's just fine with me. You can always make something hotter, you cannot make something less hot. Hot but bad is still bad, it's just hot bad. The flavor of this stuff is EXCELLENT, if you're looking for that Indian sub-continent effect this does it very, very well. People who are not fans of hot, spicy food will think this stuff is flaming hot. No one else in my family (except my nephew, who shares my love of flavorful foods) can stand anything this hot. So it's not like it's bland at all, it's very, very flavorful. Naturally, there are many types of curry. There's Thai, Japanese, Mideastern, etc. This is INDIAN type curry. This is the stuff you smell when you walk into an Indian restaurant. These people do a phenomenal job of replicating that flavor. If that's what you're looking for, then this is what you want and at a very, very good price. This is my new favorite, it's a BUNCH of good, delicious curry at a very reasonable price.

I love Rani! this order (Rani Curry Powder Hot) is the Fifth Rani order. I've never been disappointed. This curry powder is balanced in flavour, perfect amount of heat. As with all herbs and spices, you can adjust more or less of flavours. What I like about Rani's products is they are always fresh, always made with the best herbs and spices. The value for money always exceeds the price which is, for me, an indicator of this company's dedication to quality! I can recommend Rani highly! The other Rani products I've purchased are : Black Cardamom seeds (Awesome!0 Garam Masala, Anardana (Pomegranate) Ground, Whole Mace (Stored in the freezer to maintain absolute freshness). A big Thank You to Rani for their dedication to quality ingredients, and reasonable pricing. :)

This curry powder is supposed to be medium hot but is in fact quite mild you can pep it up with one or two chilis but it seems to be best with sunflower oil and low taste meats like chicken rather than lamb. I may try a Sachet mix next time but keep the plastic Jar which is easy to open and lightweight.

This is the first time I ordered from Rani. It definitely won't be the last. Their packaging already speaks volumes, first a strong vacuum sealed clear bag, placed into a second vacuum sealed protective bag - this curry would survive the sinking of the Titanic. The product itself is everything I wanted, authentic aroma and flavour, plenty of heat but not numbing. I have been hunting for a good curry powder literally for years as in Canada apparently even "hot" currys are just sawdust, never thought I would find the right stuff here on Amazon. Unless you make your own from scratch, I don't think you could find any objections againt this one. As for the price, I think 14 CAD for a 400 gram pack is more than reasonable. And I got the product in 3 days!
