Venum Challenger 2.0 Boxing Gloves

These boxing gloves are really good quality and very comfortable to use. My son loves them and says they feel great when training. The padding is solid and the design looks awesome. Definitely worth the money and perfect for practice.

I purchased these gloves about 8 months ago. For the first few months I loved them. They performed well and fit well. However about 4 months ago the lining on the inside of the left glove felt like it was pulling out from the fingers area. It felt odd at first and I wasn't sure what was happening since it is hard to see that deep into the glove. About 2 months ago the lining came fully out of the fingers area, causing the foam padding to fall away freely from inside. It has only happened to the left glove and the right is still in great condition. It seems like a flaw in the manufacture of this glove. What I am most unhappy about is the fact that I have tried contacting Venom about this and they have completely failed to respond. I would even be open to the option of buying a replacement for my left glove, but still feel they should replace it. I would assume in normal situations these gloves are great. I refuse to buy another pair just to replace the left which wasn't made well. Its unfortunate I have to give it a bad review for this reason and the fact that they won't respond to my concerns. :( UPDATE: Venom eventually got back to me about these gloves and asked me to contact Amazon for a replacement even though the time frame for replacements had expired. Amazon was very helpful in this case and replaced the gloves promptly! After receiving my new gloves I realized the first time I put them on that there was a piece of leather in the finger tip area of the glove which my previous pair did not have. This means my first pair were a pair of lemons which had some manufacture flaws I would guess. I have changed my rating on these gloves since the new pair will most likely not suffer the same issues as the first pair. Thanks Amazon!

Excellent quality!

I take a HIIT (high intensity interval training) boxing class twice a week. There is bag work but no sparring. I had been using the provided gloves and wraps but decided it was more hygienic to get my own so I was looking for inexpensive but quality gloves and warps. Several boxing blogs recommended Venum, and one specifically recommended the Challenger 2.0 for beginners. I use the 14 oz gloves (the "size" is based on your height and weight and how you will be using them not your hand size) because those are considered good for both bag work and sparring should I ever decide to do that. I've now been using these gloves for two weeks in conjunction with the Venum Kontact Gel Glove Wraps Venum "Kontact" Gel Glove Wraps, Black and the combination is great. The gloves are snug but not constricting and they feel very secure with the wraps on underneath them. I am able to close the large velcro closures easily and tightly (using my teeth to close my right hand after my left hand is already gloved). I was a little apprehensive when I first tried them on, though. They seemed very tight and my hands are what I would consider medium. This turned out to just be new product stiffness and they totally softened up during that first class. They are super comfy, much better than the class provided gloves. As for care, I wipe off the entire glove, inside and out, with anti-bacterial wipes after every class then lay them out in the sun with the velcro closures open. I do the same with the wraps I wear. I've read where you can put them in the freezer to destroy any lingering bacteria. I haven't tried that yet, but probably will when they are a few more weeks older.
