The body is plastic, I think it's PVC. The grip is flat. Tested 4 plates of 2.5 x 2 + 5 x 2 (15kgs) per rod, and both holded well on bicep curls.Everyone here says threads are weak & will break. But I don't see that issue. But I can say the bolts are thin. Will use it frequently & update this review if something happens.Go for it.A suggestion for manufacturers. Please fatten the screw threads. It'll make the product more durable & also requires less screw rotations & the plates can be swapped easily & quickly.

Fuilfill the purpose.- Good Quality product.- length is enough for 2 plates each side.- I have currently put 5 kg in each dumbell.- Though nuts are made up of plastic butare of good quality.- Brought for 299/-

It looks good and should be able to take decent amount of weights. I have used it with 10/15 kgs on each and it worked fine. I used rubber weight plates. But if you use iron weight plates which are thinner than rubber plates, and more than 20 kgs ; then it might not work well.It is value for money if you don't go overboard.

Good product for this price range but if you want to change weight during the exercise it takes forever to unscrew and rescrew the nuts. So not suitable if you want to switch eights during workout. Good if you want to keep standard weight.

Since the dumbbell road is covered with PVC layer, the seller thinks they can fool the customers anyway they want. This is not a steel dumbbell rod, it is a wooden rod covered with PVC. The product description says that this rod can lift 40 kg weight, I am damn sure it cannot even take 8 kg weight because it is not durable at all.Firstly, it is extremely light weight, almost 1/4th weight of a normal steel dumbbell rod.Secondly, when one rod is tapped on the other, it gives the distinct sound we get when 2 wooden sticks are hit with each other.Thanks to Amazon customer care who agreed to return it. But they must check these sellers who sell such low quality items and give wrong product description on Amazon. The seller must clearly state that it is a wooden dumbbell rod. It will be interesting to see who purchases it then.
