Exactly what I needed: small enough to fit depth-wise in the dairy bin on my fridge door, that fits the stick of butter and seals it tight. I didn’t want a decorative butter dish; I have one for entertaining. This is function over form. I just wanted something that would keep my everyday butter tasting fresh without taking up any space unnecessarily. Mission accomplished! I learned from reading butter keeper reviews that mine is east coast butter (which I didn’t even know was a thing?). I also learned that I'll keep the butter wrapped to make cleaning easier. Can't speak to longevity. It's a simple, lightweight plastic container. Should I need, though, I'll buy another without hesitation. Very pleased with this purchase.

I have looked all over for something just like this, I use butter all the time but some times I use a bit of margarine while cooking. Perfect for my stick of margarine.

I get 1 lb packages of butter from Costco. They are Midwest size, so this container should be just right for the 1/4 lb sticks. But alas! It is too small. Luckily I bought only one to check out the size. Very disappointed.

This works pretty good, but I recommend keeping the butter very cold/frozen, or it's a pain in the neck to get it out of this container. I wanted one for our Irish butter that comes in a 2# stick that I have to cut in half to fit into our butter dish. So the other stick needed a home, which this does do. It's just such a tight fit, getting it out if it is warm is quite a bother. Other than that, it does what you expect it to do.

Correct size for 1/4 pound sticks typically sold in Wisconsin (and possibly most of Midwest?) This is the second container like this that I’ve bought. The first lasted many years, and if I hadn’t set it down on a hot part of the stovetop I’d still use that one. We have a standard egg compartment in the top of the fridge door. This little butter container fits perfectly next to it, so we can keep a stick of butter or portion thereof right next to the carton of eggs. Perfect size, perfect fit. Absolutely perfect if you buy THIS BUTTER. Now this is NOT an endorsement for Vital FARMS Family owned dairy... or is it? But the butter fits perfectly with no problems. This tray was perfect for me. It fits my butter AND my small 11.5 cu ft fridge! 👀
