Dante Products Universal Gas Valve Key, 3-Inch, Polished Brass

Awesome. Just what I needed.Don’t have to Kneel down to open valve

This is good quality. The finish is very good.What I like about these Dante valves is that they allowed me to have my gas shut-off outside, through the wall, so no gas is inside the house when my fireplace is turned off. My wall is 2x6, and the valve was about 4" from the wall. So I needed to get a longer key but still have the valve cover plate look nice inside. So I used a coupling and a piece of threaded pipe (Amazon rejected my review for calling that pipe the way it is called, thinking I was obscene) to get the plate at the distance I needed from the valve, and be able to turn off the gas from inside the house.Now, I need a 10.5" key, and of course they don't make them. But the nice thing about this 12"key is that it is not cast as a solid piece (which I was hoping for when I ordered it). So I was able to pop the handle out, cut the shaft to length and replace the handle. See pictures attached for my setup.

It fit the regulator perfectly

This is a well made key. But caution! it does not work on the older Dante wall plate. I searched high and low to find a key for my older Dante valve and wall plate and even called Dante to find out why the tip of the key would not fit into the old wall plate opening but to no avail. What I had to do to use this key was to file down the circular tip of the key with a metal file and now it fits into the older wall plate and it works great.

Works fine. Just make sure you get the right length. We got the short key because we thought the plate with the square on it was where it engages. The nut it engages on was waaaaaaay down the hole, I assume on the other side of the wall on the outside of the house. Make sure you probe the hole with a coat hangar wire or something to see how deep it is.

Just the thing to replace my lost key

Bought this for fire place at my Job needed a let to be able to turn on /off gas to fire place in our club house. Seems to work ok good price

Great key, buy two, put in different places.

The end is pretty beefy which fits just fine in my larger gas assist valve opening. I can see if a smaller pen sized gas opening is used how this will not fit in there - be mindful of that.Otherwise, the metal has some heft and is a proper key for opening and closing the valve. Style options are a bonus and the Satin Nickel variant I chose is the perfect match for our purposes.

We'd broken our previous gas valve key and this was a replacement for that key.
