Just about the worst tool I have ever bought!
Just about the worst tool I have ever bought! Due to the play in the rolls the cutter disk can wander to the path of least resistance meaning it cuts in a spiral. When you see the amount of side to side play in the rolls it is bound to fail. I could have made a better effort when I was a 16 yr old apprentice. I can't believe how bad this is and yet it is sold on Amazon - it is a joke.

Do not touch with a bargepole
This has to be the most poorly manufactured tool I have ever come across. The two guide wheels that are supposed to guide the cutting wheels have had their axle holes drilled off centre which means that you cannot cut as the pressure increases and decreases as you turn it around the pipe. I am glad I first used it on a surplus piece of pipe and discovered this. Perhaps I purchased a Monday special and the machinist was having an off day but really how hard is it to drill a hole in the centre .

Cuts Steel Scaffolding
Just finished using the Silverline Heavy Duty Pipe cutter. Cut two steel scaffolding poles to make a washing line!!! This is an excellent product. Never having used a pipe cutter l watched a selection of You Tube videos to ensure l knew how to commence. Anyone familiar with scaffolding will appreciate they are solid, heavy duty and not the easiest pipe to cut. Purchased to shorten the poles (over estimated the height) l needed to remove a 6 foot length from each pole. Balanced, then clamped on a workbench it was a slow yet steady process. Those with more muscle strength might accomplish the task a little quicker but I was thrilled. It did the job. Most videos and reviews mentioned copper pipe, these were 5mm solid steel tubes and the Silverline cut through the pipe with ease. After consulting web comments to see if there were any hacks that might help I sprayed the cutter and pipe with a good quality oil similar to WD40, this helped me improve the 360 rotations necessary. Anyone needing a top quality, economically priced pipe cutter suitable for novices or experienced users will love this product

Good value but with an alert.
It is all to easy to create twin cutting grooves, Great care has to be used not to let this happen.

Cheap and Nasty
Absolute junk,in attempting to cut a 34mm steel tube the cutting wheel would not maintain position. Both the cutter and locating wheels are not sufficiently located and float from side to side,at this price I will not be returning this item,I will dismantle and shim out the lateral movement. You get what you pay for and that's exactly what I got,I knew it was cheap though some reviews were positive therefor I guess some got lucky, managed to obtain a suitable item from Wickes at much greater cost which prooves the point, buy cheap, buy twice!

Poorly constructed and non-functioning
The tolerances in the construction are loose. Hence rather than cutting, the pipe cutter spirals out. Seller was helpful and gave me my money back though.

Waste of time and money!
This tool was a complete waste of time, it did not cut the pipe clean at all but chewed up the metal and kept slipping. If you tightened too much it bent in and marked the metal. I tried at least 6 times on different pipes before I realised the tool was useless and opted for a good old fashioned hacksaw instead. Good job the tool was cheap or I would have sent it back. Very disappointed indeed.

Stabiles Werkzeug!
