Used these for shelving in a storage container. Work like a charm! Put kayak on 2x 24" great solution.

I ordered the 2" and 6" length. The description says it is a smooth, glossy finish and the 2" length matches that description. The 6" length is very different; it is a matte black, rough finish and feels much more substantial. The 6" also matches the elbow and floor flange I purchased from the same company. I purchases everything from the same company because I wanted it all to match for my shelving project. I decided to purchase the black painted finish because that is what I planned to do so saves me a step in the process. So I am returning the 2" and not re-ordering. It actually matches the description so I do not think I will get a different finish in the replacement. I could not find another 2" length from any company that I felt would match the other pieces I am keeping so I decided to go with a threaded nipple instead. It will reduce the amount of space from the shelf to the pipe but I think it will look fine and I will be much happier than if I kept the pieces with two different finishes.

I had bought over $100 worth from this brand about a year ago and if I was to make a review then it would have been 5 stars. I decided to go with them again for a new project since I had some spares to use.When I get the new order I find the finish is different, more glossy than the previous matte finish. Really unfortunate I loved the old matte style.In the picture provided the top is the old matte finish and the bottom is the more glossy. Phone camera probably doesn't do it enough justice.

I've done some projects by using the pipe purchased from big box stores. Now that I've discovered the Amazon supply, I will never go back. This stiff is WAY cheaper than what you will get locally. Now, to be fair, the stuff in the stores is meant to be used as designed, for plumbing. Once you break way from that need, the cost to manufacture and produce these items goes WAY down, which equals a much lower price point for the end user. I started with one main project, but since have branched to several different DIY projects and this stuff works great. I used 1" pipe to make a handrail for the stairs, 1" pipe for my gym and hanging weights, 1/2" for shelves and miscellaneous pieces, and have some upcoming plans using 3/4". Its easy to work with and looks awesome when painted (I've been using flat black on most of my projects).

Well packed and shipped. Arrived with no blemishes as the pipes were individually packed (which has not been the case with similar purchases). Threads were ok, but could have been deeper/longer to properly seat the pipe

The NPT threads are very short, definitely not to spec for any structural or fluid use. Works fine for a table or shelves. They do look good, being painted already. But the short thread engagement can cause a wobble at the joint, even if they are screwed tight. Typically, you want at least 1 diameter of thread engagement. So if you have a1" diameter thread, you want the thread to be 1" long. These are about half that.
