This is the best spinning reel that works amazing. The drag is extremely smooth and powerful. it has a great looking, smoother and feel like you can really crank on them. My husband said this reel more than met his expectation and would not hesitate to buy again! I’m so glad that he loves it!

I ordered the Stout 6000 for surf fishing with artificial lures on the Texas Gulf Coast. This is my 5th reel from Cadence. Two baitcasting reels, and two other lighter spinning reels. All have mèt all my expectations. They are well made, quality equal or better than the big name reels. All have worked flawlessly. And all have only fished in saltwaterIf you are looking for a new fishing reel, I highly recommend a reel from Cadence.

Bang for the bucks this is a grate buy. Normally I would rather send the money and get a Penn. Over the passed few years I’ve seen more and more of these little light weight tackle reels in my area of North Florida. So far I’ve had a 2-3 foot Bonnet head sharks, nice size blue cats, and other types of fish and the reel is smooth no issues. The drag seems to work wonderfully but I’m sure that’s where the down fall to this reel will come from. It’s a little poorly made as far as the drag goes but if I get a few years out of it I’ll be able to replace it for little of nothing compared to a Penn. It’s still early on and fresh out of the box, were I stand at the moment I would recommend this reel for a beginner fisherman even to a experienced fisherman looking for the next best replacement rig!

I really like this reel! I purchased it at a fair price point and used it for an all day surf fishing experience. I used it alongside my Penn Pursuit 4000 and Fierce III which are excellent reels. But this one made a very remarkable impression to purchase another one. It is very smooth and powerful! No regrets!

So just got this today and it looks great. Solid build, nice feel, and looks stylish. I will agree with another post that these tend to the small size. I got a 4000 instead of 3000 based on another review and his/her comments wear correct. So go one size bigger.

Bought this for surf fishing, as for perch you sort of want a faster retrieve due to the violent headshakes. This has a fast retrieve and works well for very small surfperch, but I caught the chonker redtail in the photo and the reel was absolutely struggling to pull through the 2oz pyramid sinker, wave pull, and of course the 2lb fish swimming in every unhelpful direction.I think the reel was pretty solid but underpowered at this size, as I have upgraded to a Daiwa BG 3k that has nearly as fast a ratio, but much better power. If you're using this for smaller surf perch, baitfishing, or freshwater stuff like bluegill, it's a good bet for the price point, but i wouldn't trust this thing again for slabbage.
