all the new laptops do not have the Ethernet cable plug on them..this is such a useful plug and play adapter for your laptop and it also has the smaller USB for connecting your cell phone but I only use it for the laptop the built quality is excellent and plugs right into the USB port.. you may have to restart the laptop once to start the connection. I clocked maximum speed allowed by my fiber Internet company with my LAN cable and using this Ethernet adapter on my laptop

Worked well on a Thinkpad x1 carbon with lenovo travel docking station, both on USB-c and USB-a ports. Wouldn't work on Thinkpad W500. I think because the USB port was too far out of date. (W500 was introduced in 2008)

Due to the newer laptops there is no port, I purchased this, it does the job, so I can now be directly plugged into the modem. I ran a speed test as well to make sure and this was a great purchase! Everything works accordingly. Windows 11 HP laptop

Our new laptops don't have an ethernet port, so I got this for my large file transfers. I ran a speed test with this dongle plugged into my ethernet splitter, and it worls awesome. We have Google Fiber 1GB service, and as you can see from my photo, I was able to pull 830MB download speed and 282MB uploads. This was with another computer using our wifi at the same time. This was plug and play and didn't require any driver download for my Windows 11 computer; however, the directions do show that if you're running some older Operating Systems, you'll need to download a driver.

Der USB A/C Adapter ist auch praktisch. Lediglich an einem Monitor funktioniert das Teil nur über USB-A. Ich vermute der Monitor verursacht das Problem, deshalb 5 Sterne.

Needed a basic 1G ethernet dongle, that worked with Linux. This is based on a Realtek 8152 chip, and has out-of-the-box driver support. Real world performance is about 942Mbits, up there with a PCIe card. That was on a USB 3 port, of course. Great value for the money.

Works as advertised and good to have USB type A or USB Type C. Quality stuff. As my title says...
