Works well on 2000 911/996
This crank position sensor works great in a 2000 911/996 C2. Issue was that the car would not re-start after engine had heated up to operating temp. Would crank but no start. Evidence that needed new crank position sensor (note, this is different from a cam shaft position sensor found in the head) was that the tach needle would not move when starter being cranked. But replacing old sensor with this new Bosch sensor solved the problem. Replacement was fairly easy from underneath car. It it located toward top of the engine on the driver’s side where the engine connects to the transmission connects.

Fixed my Boxster
Our Boxster left us stranded in Chatanooga about 500 miles from home. It didn't want to crank when it was warm after making quick stops at the store and then finally failing totally by losing power and lighting the dash up like a Christmas tree on the interstate. This was the culprit. Just replaced it with this new one and she is once again a pleasure to drive. Only took about an hour.
