Best Toy For Almost Any Age
The Furby is just hilarious. I am even entertained and I am 30. I got one for myself just to see if it would click with the kids before we invested in 2 of them.(ok I just wanted one!). The kids 3.5 and 5.5 year old boys would not put mine down. They both wanted to keep playing with it. So I convinced the hubby we needed 3. I wasn't giving mine up. I also convinced him to let them have them now and not wait until Christmas because they loved mine so much.Favorite thing about Furby:1) The iphone app! It allows you to give almost an endless supply of food and non-food items to eat. Its hilarious how it responds. Sometimes it spits parts back at you. Sometimes its happy. Sometimes it vomits it back up! The kids can't get enough and I find myself fighting the urge to insist they let me pick the next item to feed it to see what happens. You can feed him individual items or make sandwiches. They are all funny. There are tons of foods. The only problem is for people without apple products. It doesn't work on android. There is no Furby app. I hope for other peoples sake they make one. It didn't affect us much except the kids fight over the one grandparents phone that is not an android. We are mainly an apple family.2) The only educational value I can see is that the app listens to Furby and translates to english. The is written down like texts and then my son tries to read it. If he can't he taps it and its reads it out for him. So he is kinda honing his reading skills. Also they are learning hand eye coordination and how to use electronics on the app. Other than that, its just fun! But kids are supposed to have fun too. The app is going to be the thing that keeps the kids loving this toy forever.3) The LCD screen eyes make it have an almost endless supply of emotions and responses.4) It dances and tries to sing to music.5) Its surprisingly cuddly6) It has a tail now.I am going to going to subject myself to the embarrassment of taking mine to work with me tomorrow. The rest of the stuff I think was already covered by other reviewers. There is no off button but they go to sleep quickly in the dark. I think this is part of the charm because you can't just turn them off and forget them.It does still interact with other Furby's as we have 3, its hilarious to see them talking to each other!!!Hope this helps.

Love love love this.
While I never got into or owned one of the original Furbys, after seeing these on YouTube I just had to get one. These Furbys are so much more advanced. Just the new LCD eyes alone ensure that. They can express themselves in so many more ways. And you don't have the issue that I've heard from alot of other original Furby owners of the "blank stare" from the static eyes the old ones had.And speaking of being emotive: these new Furbys have much more movement to them and variation in movement. Forget just the back and forth and moving their ears and eyes. These new ones can dance side to side, squish their tummy in (sorry, hard to explain. Think Pilsbury doughboy when you tickle his belly) in addition to closing their eyes and wiggling their ears.As far as interacting, they definitely seem to react differently depending on the person that interacts with it most. And how you treat it. It seems to have a different personality depending on whether the main owner is male or female. The voice is different too.As far as how you treat it: if you hug it alot, pet it alot, feed it moderately and don't pull it's tail or flip it upside alot, it develops a very loving personality. If you do all those things alot, expect a very grumpy Furby. Also, a friend found out that if you tickle it alot it changes into a "baby" personality.I've only had mine for about a month or so and so have only had it change personalities a couple times. If you play it music alot it does develop "favorites". In other words, if you play it the same song alot it develops a "liking" to that song and will sing and dance to it. After a while when you start playing it different songs, it "likes" some and doesn't "like" others. You can tell this because it either sings along and dances or says "Bleh, bad song" or a negative Furbish phrase. If you liked the old Furbys, you will absolutely fall in love with the new ones. If you're like me and thought the old ones were just too simplistic, but were still intrigued by them, check out the new ones. And don't let anyone tell you that they are for a particular age group. I'm 36 and love it and have many adult friends that got their own after seeing the one they got their kids :)

Furby is BACK!! Our kids and all the neighbor kids LOVE these things!
I will be brief. This is not a breakthrough robotic creature that really learns from you or its surroundings. That being said, the new Furby is FUN!!It is a total ball to play with him, pull his tail, roll him around, etc. Sometimes his reactions are hilarious and the timing perfect. It's also a lot of fun when he goes completely nuts and "changes" personalities. We've had such a blast with ours, I told my wife the first night after playing with one and laughing hysterically for about an hour "we've already got our moneys worth out of this thing!" And that was before the kids had seen it!Overall we've had so many good laughs from these little guys it's really hard to say anything negative about them at all. They entertain, and sometimes surprise you even after the novelty has worn off. Totally recommend one especially if you have kids!! Oh, and the iPhone/iPad apps are fun to play with as well. As others have said it adds a new dimension to "Furby play" and it's fun to watch his reaction to different foods.Loud? Yes. Obnoxious? Totally! Will some people hate them? Guaranteed. Hilarious and adorable most of the time?? Absolutely!!*5 Stars from a 33 year old tech geek with 2 kids ages 5 and 8.*BTW the kids are very excited tonight because their Furbies are having a "sleepover" with the neighbor Furbies. A must have magical and fun toy for the holidays!!
Time to dust off your Furbish dictionary because Furby is back and ready to take the world by storm. Feed it, speak to it, tickle it, play music for it and shake, tilt or turn your Furby upside down. But be warned - how you treat your Furby will shape its personality. Are you ready to handle a Furby? Who will your Furby become? It all depends on how you play you’re your Furby. When you first meet your Furby, it will speak mostly Furbish. But the more you play with Furby, the more English it will speak. It responds to your touch, your music, and even to other Furbys (each sold separately). But remember: your Furby has a mind of its own. You can also download a free app to help you translate Furbish, as well as virtually feed your Furby and other interactive features. App is optional and works with iPad, iPod touch and iPhone with iOS 4.2 or later.
