Very good product
I had a similar product from Australia years ago, this seems very much the same.I used this on a new heavy saddle bag type item to soften it and preserve it. It worked wonderfully. It can slightly darken the leather but to me it gives it a richer look and definitely softer feel.I had great success with the other product on leather furniture, automobile seats and heavy leather jackets.I warm it in the oven, very slightly. turn the oven on warm for a few minutes but turn it off so it is just warm maybe 100 degrees, not hot!!makes the application easy, then wipe off with a clean towel.Done! You will like this product. If you are treating saddles or other equestrian products get a large canister.

Great Leather Soap
I used this on a pair of Sorel Caribou Boots. The boots are super warm and built like a tank, so I didn't give much thought to maintenance of them. They just seem to take the abuse and keep working. Well, my last winter camping expedition I got a little bit of water leakage into the boots, which is unsat. That cannot be permitted. I knew the first step to waterproofing them was to clean them, and I bought Fiebing's Saddle Soap on the strength of its recommendations. Good choice. I applied the soap and a little bit of water with a microfiber cloth. It lathered up nicely, and [wow] did it remove years of dirt and salt! When I was done, I was amazed at how soft and supple the leather was. I didn't notice the change in the leather from years of junk soaking into it, because the change was so gradual. This product did its job well. Now, my boots are back to a beautiful, clean state, but I need to address the waterproofing aspect. Jump over to my review of Fiebings Mink Oil Paste to see how that went. (Spoiler: It went well). Additional Thought: I did not agonize over finding the cheapest saddle soap. It is something I use rarely, so my main concern was efficacy, with an eye to not paying an exorbitant price. Maybe there are cheaper alternatives, but this worked so well that I am going to stick with Fiebings.

Excellent Soap for Boot Leather
I used this product on some needy Justin Leather workboots. I had used another leather balm (a great product in itself) but it wasn't enough on this neglected and dry leather that I felt would benefit from a proper leather cleansing (leather soap). So I bought the Fiebings, and I was greatly pleased with the results, as the leather maintained its richness over the following days. Made the leather more supple as well as clean, and set up the surface to properly receive some conditioning. Yeah, this was what these boots needed to set up for a nice finish. The leather is richer, and more pliable, without the leather being saturated with unwanted chemicals. I've been wearing the boots all day and into the evening, and this is what it's all about. So this Saddle Soap is EXCELLENT for leather boots, IME.Since this is my first foray into saddle soap products, I'm not exactly an authority, so I'll give it a 4, but it likely deserves 5. It's great stuff. Simple to work with. Easy peasy. and it WORKS.

Fiebing’s Yellow Saddle Soap: A Classic, Affordable Solution for Reviving Smooth Leather
Fiebing’s Yellow Saddle Soap for Leather: A Reliable, Budget-Friendly Leather Care EssentialI recently used Fiebing’s Yellow Saddle Soap (3.5 oz tin) to clean and condition a pair of well-worn leather boots and a vintage leather handbag, and I’m impressed with its performance for the price. This classic product lives up to its reputation as a trusted leather care staple since 1895.Ease of Use: 4.5/5Applying Fiebing’s Yellow Saddle Soap is straightforward. I followed the instructions: dampen a soft cloth, rub it into the soap to create a lather, and gently work it into the leather in circular motions. It took just a few minutes to clean each item, and the lather effectively lifted dirt and grime. My only minor critique is to avoid overapplying, as too much soap can leave a residue that’s tricky to wipe off completely. A little goes a long way, and a quick wipe with a damp cloth removes excess easily.Cleaning and Conditioning: 5/5This saddle soap is a powerhouse for cleaning smooth leather. It tackled years of dirt on my boots and restored the handbag’s shine, leaving both looking refreshed and supple. The soap lubricates leather fibers, preventing brittleness, and my items felt noticeably softer after use. It didn’t darken the leather or leave any yellow tint, which was a relief for lighter brown shades. I followed up with a conditioner (Fiebing’s Mink Oil) to enhance the results, as recommended, and the leather looked revitalized.Versatility: 5/5This product is incredibly versatile, suitable for boots, bags, saddles, car seats, and more. I tested it on both my boots and handbag with no issues, and it’s reassuring to know it can handle various smooth leather items. Note that it’s not meant for suede or rough-out leather, so stick to smooth surfaces. The yellow formula is traditionally for saddles and tack, but it works just as well as the white version for shoes and boots, with no color transfer.Value and Longevity: 5/5At around $5–$10 for a 3.5 oz tin, this soap is a fantastic value. A small amount creates ample lather, so the tin lasts for dozens of uses. Customers on Amazon note that it keeps leather goods in top condition for years, and I can see why—it’s a small investment for long-term leather care.Final Verdict: Fiebing’s Yellow Saddle Soap is a must-have for anyone with smooth leather goods. It’s affordable, easy to use, and delivers excellent cleaning and conditioning results. Whether you’re reviving old boots or maintaining a leather couch, this soap gets the job done without fuss. Just use it sparingly, follow with a conditioner, and your leather will thank you! Highly recommend for both casual users and leather enthusiasts.Note: Always test on a small, inconspicuous area first to ensure compatibility, and avoid overapplication to prevent residue buildup.

Amazing
Works great as a cleaner and did a great job polishing. My boots were filthy and it got all of the long dried mud and grime off and polished it beautifully. Amazing product, picture is a side by side of the boots after and before polishing

This is a must
Boots came back to life. I used horse hair brush to remove dust. Then another brush with this saddle soap and some warm water to clean them. Microfiber towel to wipe the soap off. Then a coat of mink oil. And finally a good brush to finish them off. Both boots looked the same before doing this to my right boot.Highly recommended along with horse hair brush kit, and mink oil and sponge kit. All from Amazon.
