Worth every penny!
I needed a drill that could handle a 6” hole saw cutting through 3/4” of plywood to male cornhole boards. I burned out a battery operated drill trying to do this. Man, this thing has some power as it will rip your arm off If you pull the trigger too hard and go too fast. This thing cuts through the Wood like butter, but go slow to save your limbs.I’m so over battery operated tools as they never have enough power. Some people complain about it being too powerful to drive screws. Just practice using the trigger and you’ll get the right speed/power for driving screws as well. This drill is worth every penny!

First 1/2 drill I ever owned and the power is amazing!
The first 50 years of my life, I only ever handled 3/8 inch drills. What a difference another 1/8 inch makes! I bought this in combination with a paint stirring attachment to mix batches of 10-year formula driveway sealer. A mixture so thick I could barely move it by hand and I'm a grownass man. Not to worry, the SKIL drill masterfully whipped up the tar to a smooth whip cream consistency, 10x better than I ever hand stirred it. And the second grip is NOT for show, you'll need both hands to handle this monster at full RPMs.

Solid drill perfect for home use
This is a very nice drill especially for the price. Its considerably more powerful than my previous corded drill that had nearly identical specs. The chuck is all-metal and looks like it will last long a long time. The level on the top of the drill is a very useful feature. This drill is on the heavy side but it feels solidly built and the assist handle makes it easy to control. The handle is easy to adjust - just unscrew the end section, turn to whatever position you want, then tighten or it can be removed completely. I do wish the handle had a rubber grip instead of just plastic but the handle doesn't feel cheap. The drill is on the larger size so using in tight spaces could be an issue. The only improvements I can think of would be that the chuck key be attached to the drill body instead of the cord, the rubber grip on the handle that I mentioned previously and if it included a light. Its not contractor grade but its perfect for typical home use. I have a few other Skil tools and they have lasted for years. Overall, I would definitely recommend this drill.

HOLY MOLY! THE POWER!
Alright, I'm not a carpenter or anything but I've gone through a LOT of drills in my days and this is, by far, the most powerful drill I've ever used. This thing is a BEAST! My other most powerful drill was having trouble drilling through some metal. Switched the bit over to this drill and... WOW... THE POWER. Chewed through it like it wasn't even there.Just be careful! On one occasion, the drill bit did get stuck and man... the motor ripped the drill right out of my hands. And I mean, I was holding it pretty tight! It's just super powerful.Bottom line: I love this thing! I highly recommend it.

Great price for a great drill
I've always settled for less than I needed, not sure why. I finally bought the right size, and I'm overjoyed with the performance. Don't hesitate to grab this drill. I should add that I'm not a contractor, nor do I make a living in a job where this is required. I'm a home handyman who uses it occasionally, not constantly. I won't say it isn't suitable for contractors, I just don't know. But if you're a homeowner that needs the "once in a while" tool, this baby does the job.

Great bang for your buck
For the price point, it's hard to beat. With Skil tools dropping in quality over the years, I was a bit skeptical. But for the price, I rolled the dice. Over all, the drill feels solid. It certainly has power too. If I would say anything negative, it would be that the drill feels a little nose heavy. For what I need it for, that's not a problem. But if you are balancing on a ladder, it might be a little cumbersome to use.

More than enough drill for the normal homeowner.
Reading reviews it appears there can be quality control issues. I’ve used the drill on the project for which I purchased it and had no problems. It made quick work of drilling through the frame of my KLR650 to install the drill through bolt upgrade. I expect to use it roughly once per year (will use a l as powerful cordless most of the time) for some project requiring a drill of this magnitude. I expect this to be the last 1/2 inch drill I buy for homeowner occasional-use purposes. For reference, I paid 34.98 in Jan 2019. Read my review using that lens.

Side assist handle not securely attached
I bought this specifically for use with a 6" hole saw on cornhole boards. My cordless could do the job, but it was so taxing on it that it got alarmingly hot. Also, when drilling with the hole saw, it can occasionally grab and try to rip the drill out of your hands, so getting a unit with the side assist handle was important.Unfortunately the side assist handle isn't very well secured to the drill. When it's loose, you can feel that there are locations where it seems to fit snugly on the drill. And even though I pick one of these spots, once that saw grabs and jerks the drill to the side, the assist handle slips. I've tightened it as much as I feel comfortable doing. It's made of plastic and I know that I'm stronger than plastic. I could keep tightening it, but I know it's going to break or strip, then it'll be useless. So it's just a shortcoming that I have to live with. If I'd spent double on the drill, I'd probably send it back, but for the limited need I have of it, I simply can't justify an expensive DeWalt.Another point I'd like to make, and this isn't an issue with the drill, but is simply something to understand if this is your first two-handed drill is that it's not balanced to be used with one hand. It's very front-heavy, so it'd be like shooting a rifle with one hand. Do-able, but unwieldy.
