Nutricost L-Phenylalanine 500mg; 180 Capsules

I trust the Nutricost's line of products and use them when I can. They have great prices and quality products, so obviously I chose their L-Phenylalanine. I've been taking 1 gram in 2 easy to swallow gelcaps, everyday for many, many years. It helps my body produce the neurotransmitter Dopamine by way of it converting to L-Tyrosine which converts to L-Dopa which finally produces dopamine! Dopamine assists in treatment of "Major Depressive Disorders" which I happen have and the reason I take this. Yes, you can jump a step & go for the L- Tyrosine. But that didn't work right for me. Made me agitated & shaky like main-lining pure caffeine! Works too fast for me is a guess. So, Phenyalamine is the precursor of-Tyrosine which is required to make L-Dopa. Your final product is Dopamine. This neurotransmitter has an uplifting action, helps pull people out unmotivated, lethargic and apathethetic states of mind. Low L-Dopamine causes you to feel completely without desire; uninterested in anything or anyone. So I'd say it's critical to mental health! You get it in foods & supplements, as all essential AA's. Nutricost L-Phenylalanine really works! absolutely notice a difference when I don't take it. I've tried other brand but this one seems to work great and at a great price for a large quantity. Hope I help at least 1 person understand why some people need it. I encourage people to Google the hell out of any diagnosis a doctor lays on you! R Remember, they all "PRACTICE" Medicine so knowing the most you can allows you to ask educated questions about the whys, why nots & the how! Also, to understand what the Doctor is aiming for in your treatment. You might find out he wasn't addressing the same thing that brought you to a Doc. This just happened to me. Since I knew enough, I was able to ask the right questions so we were both on the same page! So LEARN something! 😁

Great supplement, easy to take and work wonder.

I noticed this amino acid was in several focus and energy supplements so I decided to try it straight and wow, it works great! I take it only on days when I need extra energy or am operating on limited sleep and it provides a nice boost for 4 to 5 hours. I empty out about a third of the capsule since a full one can give me a little head tension and it is perfect. My system tends to be more sensitive to stimulants so I don't know if others get the same pronounced effect, but given the low cost and minimal side effects I recommend trying it out.

I took these a couple of years ago while going through an extremely stressful & depressive time in my life. They helped tremendously, but I also took PEA to help with my fibromyalgia pain & the two combined worked wonders for my mood & energy levels, as well as the nerve pain associated with fibromyalgia. I ordered it again recently & just got the PEA to go along with it. I’ll be starting both again today. Hopefully I get the same results this time around. I can definitely tell a difference when not taking them.

Excellent product!

A nice pick-me-up especially when combine with phenylethylamine. One does the quick release and the other makes it last longer.

I have been taking this for a little over a month I have even been taking 2 capsules each morning I was giving it “time” like they say but to be truly honest it does not do anything! Nothing at all.. I guess is time for me to continue my search.
