Has Retinyl Palmitate NOT Retinol...
This comes with the jar in bubble wrap. There’s no outer product box. There is a plastic seal around the top of the jar so you know it wasn’t tampered with. The jar is a darker color, which is nice to protect the serum. I would still store it in a darker area because it doesn’t look too dark. The applicator is a dropper. The ingredients are listed on the bottle (see photos). It says it’s made in Canada. It says it “contains 70% organic content.” It also says that its “100% pure,” “lab tested,” “non GMO,” and “zero gluten, silicones, parabens, sulfates.” Theres no cruelty free logo. The bottle is easy to open to get the dropper out. The serum is a thin consistency, but not so thin where it’s runny. It is a milky white kind of color. There’s a slight scent, kind of orange like. The serum isn’t too thick or too thin where it’s runny. It’s a good consistency. A little goes a long way. It glides onto the skin easily. There’s a sticky feeling until it absorbs, but it absorbs quickly.I love that it has vitamin C, aloe Vera, and retinol all together. Aloe is second ingredient, vitamin C is third, and hyaluronic acid is fourth. However, the fifth ingredient is retinyl palmitate NOT retinol. Both Retinol and Retinyl Palmitate are forms of Vitamin A. However, Retinol is the purest form of Vitamin A, and about 20% more potent than Retinyl Palmitate. Retinol is used in a variety of skincare preparations as an exfoliator to stimulate cell turnover in your skin (it stimulates cell turnover from the deeper layers up, which makes it safe to use with AHAs of BHAs, which work to exfoliate on the uppermost layers). As an intelligent, cell-communicating ingredient, Retinol talks to existing skin cells, telling them to act and look younger. On the other hand, Retinyl Palmitate can be effective in boosting collagen fiber production in your skin, which can help you look younger. So, if you’re getting this product thinking you’re getting the benefit of vitamin C, aloe Vera, and retinol, you’d be wrong. You’ll get the benefits of retinol, they probably just won’t be as noticeable as they would if it was retinol instead of retinyl palmitate.I can’t speak to any long term effects. I haven’t noticed any difference since using it, but will continue using it and update if there’s a good or bad difference. So far I’d recommend it if you’re looking for a vitamin C serum. I’d recommend it if you’re looking for something with vitamin C and retinol, but that’s not as potent, since that’s what you get with retinyl palmitate. I just don’t like they say it has retinol, when it isn’t actually retinol, it’s retinyl palmitate. So I took 2 stars off for that. But, other than that, the serum seems nice so far.

5/5 Thick but works as well as other C serum
The media could not be loaded. I’ve been using vitamin C serum on my sun-damaged face and hands for the last few months and can attest that it really works to fade dark blotches. Some are gone completely and others are much-faded. Since I’ve already been doing that before trying this brand, I can’t give a before-after comparison. I can only say that the dark spots continue to fade. This one is a bit different from others. It’s much thicker (see video). When I pull out the dropper, there’s more serum stuck to the outside than there is on the inside. That’s fine, just smear it off. I assume that’s from the aloe, which my other sera don’t have. Another difference is that this contains retinol. Retinol increases sensitivity to sun, so I’ll use this only during the winter months when I’m mostly indoors. I’ll switch back to a non-retinol serum as the weather improves. As for value, this is a bit more expensive than other brands of vitamin C serum, but if you want the aloe and retinol, it would be a good choice. I do prefer this one's 2 oz bottle to the usual little 1 oz bottles for convenience.

Absorbs quickly, light scent
I can't comment on how well this works because it takes time to see any results from a new skincare product, but this serum is easy to put on and absorbs quickly. It has a slight milky color and it's not too thick, as in it's easy to spread around your skin without having to use tons of product. It will be a tad sticky for a it, but it absorbs pretty quick and after about 30 seconds, I can put another serum over it. I haven't had any issues with it pilling up when I layer it with other products. The scent has kind of a citrus smell and is very light -- it doesn't linger on your skin. I have sensitive skin and haven't had any issues with this so far.

Doesn't dry out my skin.
I've used others that require you to wash your face, apply a toner, apply the serum, and then apply a moisturizer. I don't like having to fuss with my skin care regime for like 30 minutes twice a day. This one only specifies cleaning your face first. Easy to apply. The doppler fills up about 1/3 of the way and is just the right amount to dab in 4 locations on your face and then spread it out so it has a light coverage. The smell is a bit like orange peels. No sensitivities to this and normally I have sensitive skin. Does it work, well the verdict is still out as I can't say it's done any miracles though.

Vitamin C for skin regeneration
I'm not sure what all of the ingredients are supposed to do, except for retinol and hyaluronic acid. Both are standard ingredients in skin care products. The concentrations are low, so how much they really accomplish is up for question. According to skin care sites, Vitamin C, as an antioxidant, is supposed to aid your skin's natural regeneration process. Hmmmm. It can't hurt. As a serum rather than a cream, this goes on light, isn't sticky and absorbs quickly. That's all I ask of a skin care product.

Viscous consistency makes application easier.
I like the viscous consistency of this serum. It is easier to apply and stays on my skin better than watery and runny serums. This serum has a citrus scent that is not too strong. Most of it absorbs quickly into my skin, but it does feel slightly sticky after application. Using this serum has made my skin noticeably smoother.

Basic
Basic Vitamin C serum. I've tried several of these and so far its just like your basic one. This one is stickier than most. Smell isn't strong. My face does feel hydrated after. Good price.

Works amazing for my skin!
I have tried at least 8 different brands of vitamin C serum (from Amazon) and this one, especially price point, has worked amazingly with my skin. The texture is thick & the scent is pleasant. I have tried other serums where the viscosity was very very low, basically just plain liquid and found that over the course of a month I would develop little bumps high on my cheekbones. I didn't stop using it and continued to finish the bottle to see if it would improve. It didn't for me. When trying out new serums or product on your face it always takes time for your skin to adapt. Those ones did not work well for me. Other brands where the viscosity was higher did the same. So far, I have had this one bottle for nearly 3 months, applied morning and night...and those bumps on my cheekbones have completely disappeared. My skin is also tighter & more luminous! I will stick to this brand...it's absolutely amazing (for me).

Feels great!
I'm really liking this serum. It goes on really nicely, smells nice and makes my skin feel and look smoother and brighter. As I'm getting closer to 50 I keep reading how important retinol and vitamin C is for skin so I figured I'd give it a try. Many products are very expensive but these are affordable and I am very happy with the results.

Seems good.
I bought this product when the one I usually purchase was out of stock. It only comes with a droplet type suction attachment and it's much thicker and gooey then the product I usually purchase. It has a strong Citrus smell. Seems to do the job. However because of product is thicker I expect I will run out of it faster than my usual one. I was not offered any special products or offers for writing this review.

Didn’t work for PIH, acne scars or folliculitis scars
Most reviews here talk about how great of a moisturizer this is, indeed thats true. But, a moisturizer is all it is more or less.I had very high hopes from this product when I purchased this, but unfortunately it didn’t work for me. I used it on both old and new Acne Scars and Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation scars but noticed little to no difference. Almost done with the bottle and honestly I am quite disappointed.I did my best to use it the best way possible;* Used in the AM and PM* Cleanse skin before use* Stored this in a dark place with optimal temperature* Even went to the extent of switching off the lights and applying this in a dark/dimly lit room (Vitamin C is very sensitive to light and loses efficacy easily)Its easy to spread and apply, feels like a thick aloe vera gel and absorbs easily when applied. Not sure if its the quality of the Chemicals inside that are not as effective or if they lose efficiency during production. This would work great as a moisturizer but did not work to fade dark spots or acne scars.
