i gave this to our 4.5 year old grandson who is very interested in cars, trucks and excavation vehicles. i didn't buy aaa batteries and wasn't thinking about having to make a trip to the grocery store to buy the 3 batteries for the truck and 2 batteries for the remote control for each truck. our grandson quickly figured out how to operate the controls and had fun just playing with them as trucks he could control. it was a good time to warn him of being careful, don't use a table as a racetrack as the trucks will fall off and could break. the first fall showed that they're sturdy, but he learned use the floor and not risk breakage. it's only the first day, and he hasn't played in the sand and dirt. the video showed dirt. it's a good first rc toy. he's very into them now. we'll see if it lasts. there's lots of competition in his playroom.

Pros: - Beautiful craftsmanship and animation - Performs designated tasks simply - Great for introducing simply hand eye coordination to a toddler Cons: - Battery hog. Main device has an on off switch if you're mindful, but the main controller seems to drain regardless. Bought a rechargeable battery system to combat this, but it's an issue I don't expect to resolve soon, whether its this or another toy. - Multiple inputs are disregarded. If you want to steer while driving forward, tough luck. Good for teaching toddlers autonomous motion, but potentially counterintuitive.

This construction toy has been an absolute favorite for my son! It’s easy to use, incredibly durable, and still works like new even after a year and a half of regular play. Highly recommend it for kids who love construction-themed toys!

We have been very impressed with this truck so far. It was for my 3 year old for his birthday, and he has had a ton of fun loading it up and using the remote to make the bed of the truck go up and dump everything out. The controls are nice and simple and work well. The most impressive feature is that the truck drives very well on carpet! Our carpet is not shaggy or anything, but we have had other RC cars and trucks that have had trouble going over it. This toy doesn't have that problem, and it makes is useable throughout the house!

I am deeply disappointed with this remote-controlled vehicle. We purchased it for our son along with over 100 pounds of play sand, hoping it would provide hours of fun. However, after just a few minutes of play, the vehicle completely stopped responding. I meticulously checked the battery compartment for any issues or debris, but everything was in order. I even replaced the batteries in both the controller and the vehicle, but it didn't help. To say that I'm dissatisfied with this product would be an understatement. It barely entertained our son for half an hour and now sits as a useless item that won't even move without an RC connection. This is a major letdown, and I would caution anyone considering this purchase to think twice.
