Great Idea but didn't work for us.
This is an awesome concept. LOVE the stoplight theme. Kids already knew what the colors meant from being backseat drivers. I have a 2 yr old and almost 5. My 5 year old is AuDHD. She has always had separation anxiety from me and her therapist recommended a sleep training light to help us get her to stay in her bed through the night . Was kind of desperate to reclaim my bed so willing to try anything. We didn't want to cut her off cold turkey from the security of our room so we set the red light to change to green at 3am. That's 6 hrs in her room with her sister alone without me or dad. Well she would fall asleep but wake up sometime between 9pm and 3am and I caught her sitting on her couch just watching the light. It had caused her souch anxiety in a week that she had stopped going to sleep and just hyper focused on the light turning green. Once I realized that was happening, it was the end of the stop light clock.I really wanted it to work but her special little brain said nope. Great product , idea is awesome , but doesn't work for our family. We did work on just consistently walking her back to her room but even if she cried and woke up her sister. Many days of sleepless nights but we did eventually work up to her going back to her room and into her bed without a breakdown. I get called one to two times a night and o come in and give her a hug and she stays in her room till daylight, that's around 5am this time of year. So improvement is possible. Eventually I hope we'll get to a point where she's able to sleep through the night without having to revert to medication. Good luck to all. You ARE good parents !!!

Great Sleep Training Tool
Our daughter was having a constant problem getting up way too early for us, we purchased another type of clock from Amazon and it was a failure, however we read the mix reviews on this and were skeptical, after we returned the other one and got this one . A year later, we must say this thing is freaking awesome and amazing. We can actually get an extra 30 minutes of sleep and it may not sound like a lot but for a parent with a toddler its' an extra 30 minutes of not having someone jumping on your head, or screaming at you. The key thing we realized with this clock is; its a training tool and order for you to be successful at it you have to train your kid. With our daughter we taught her when the "Light is red, we stay in bed", and When the light is Green its time to get up. We set the clock up for 6:30 in the morning, but the key thing is at night we turn the alarm on together and its a sign that we need to slow down and get ready to go to bed. If she wakes up at 6:00 AM, we walk her back to bed and she lays there till the light turns green. She has now been conditioned to get a book or play with her dolls until the light on the clock turns green, which has been a plus for us. It took us about a week to get the concept down including sending her back to her room until her clock turns green in the morning several times, and within a month she would sit in her bed quietly until the light turns. We also found out with our daughter her standard wake up time is 6:30, and we tried to see if we can manipulate her into staying in bed later with the clock and it did not work. The problem is she is only willing to stay in bed for up to 30 minutes, and after that she gets restless, so my advice is to use this in conjunction with your kids natural wake/sleep cycle, as this will not work miracles. Our only regret is that we did not discover this early enough it would of saved us some extra months of sanity.Cons:One Setting: You can only setup one alarm time, there is no timer. It would be great if there was a timer setting so we could use this for nap time. Because there is only one time setting we only use it at night. The setup is kind of cumbersome which means once we have it setup we don't mess with it.Price: I think the price is kinda of high for what this product is, but I guess you are selling parents control over their toddlers wake-up schedule, and an extra 3.5 hours of sleep per week in our case. I guess most parents would pay more than the asking price for that.

Love it! Great way to train kids
Before anything: Please note, this is NOT magic. It won't raise your kids for you. It does - however - help given all the right other tools.Great way to let the kids know when they are "allowed" to: get out of bed/ come out of their room/ knock on parents' bedroom door, etc.I "practiced" with my kids before we started, they pretended to go to sleep, then wake up and play till the light turned green. They now get a small pile of chocolate chips every morning they let us sleep till the light turns green.

Would have been a five star except for the "demon" elmo paint job
I like the concept of the stoplight alarm. We even came up with a rhyme to help our son remember: "When the light is red it is time to rest your head. Green light? Ok! It is time to start the day." We really hope having the red light to indicate stay in bed will be helpful for our son versus some of the other light alarms on the market that are just on or off. It was easy to set up and came well packaged with clear directions. I had originally clicked the link for the train version but ultimately decided to spend a few more bucks to get the sesame street themed alarm. For the price I was a little disappointed in the paint job on the figurines. Big bird isn't really a vibrant yellow more of a dirty yellow. Cookie Monster's eyes aren't completely white you can see the base coat of blue underneath. The worst is Elmo's eyes. The paint ran down from the eyes to the top of the nose which I think makes him look creepy and doesn't look like the character at all. If I was giving it as a gift I would be more upset. As it is the alarm is on a high shelf so my son can't mess with the buttons and from that distance it doesn't look as bad but definitely knocking off a star because of it.
