Good initial quality, real 8000mAh
These appear to be good quality D-size cells, with a rated capacity of 8000mAh. In my tests (3 charge/discharge cycles), all of the 8 cells tested at or above 8000mAh under 1A discharge rate.One thing I noticed with these cells that I did not see with other D-size NiMH cells is that they require a fairly high charge current to produce a strong dV/dT termination signal. However, dV/dT termination at high currents can make cells very warm towards the end of the charging session. Not wanting to run my cells too hot, I settled on a capacity-based charging instead. With my settings (9000mAh cap, 3A current), the cells still return over 8000mAh of usable capacity, but don't sit on the charger long enough to get hot.This is only an initial impression, time will tell if the capacity stays consistent and within spec.

Rechargeable, low self discharge, Less Likely to Leak
I purchased several of these to replace Alkaline Batteries in Aluminum Bodied Flashlights. Having lost a few of these flashlights to leaking Alkaline cells over the years, I decided that the emergency flashlights in our house needed something that would not only be ready when called upon, but, should also be protected from a very common failure mode.These cells haven't been tested to see how long they last in the flashlights, but, I expect them to hold the advertised capacity. The peace of mind combined with the ability to recharge make these a wise investment. Remember, these are low self-discharge and can hold charge a long time between chargesStrategy to use for emergency standby lights:-Purchase and top off the factory charge-Install in flashlights-If you use the lights, recharge the batteries even if you only used a small part of the charge, if you don't use the lights within 1 year top off the charge.-Be confident that you likely will not have a battery leak in your emergency flashlights.

These batteries are mediocre, and 80% of typical capacity. Because they are low self discharge, they are great for infrequently used devices, and devices that are at high risk of getting lost, or being used by someone who doesn't get the concept of rechargeable batteries. The low cost makes them break even with alkaline batteries after just 3-5 charges. Less qualms if someone borrows it and doesn't give it back or loses it (flashlights typically). If you want top of the line batteries for capacity, go look for much more expensive eneloop or powerex batteries.

truth is
I have 15 year old rayovac aa that have literally been charged 1000s of time and they actually hold a charge longer than these, go figureafter a week they need to be recharged to usemaybe I got bad ones but I have over 60 of these and they are all the same

Batteries appear to be as represented and charged properly in my charger. I'm using them in my 4x, 5x, and 6x D-cell MagLights both with Malkoff LEDs and incans. LEDs in these lights appear to work well with the 1.2v/cell strings. I "renewed" the batteries (3x discharge/charge cycle) before use and was pleasantly surprised to see that all batteries charged to just about 8,000 mAH, way better than other D-cell rechargeable batteries I have purchased in the past. I believe the discharge curve for these Centuras will be superior to throw-away 1.5v alkaleak batteries, despite the lower initial voltage. Time will tell if they last, but I'm expecting them to be good performers for quite a while.

Unlike the BAKTH 10000mAh cells I purchased, these D-size cells are properly sized to fit anywhere a standard D cell will fit, even if stacked. Capacity is slightly less but they work in my application, so went with these. Tenergy is a top brand and have been around for quite a long time. Great quality! And low self-discharge means they will not die quickly when your equipment is not in use for a while.

Not much difference from other manufacturer's product with high scrap rate.
I used them by recharging a few times. I used them for the sensor light in the garage placing 4p in one light. Basically, 4p out of 8p could not be recharged any more because the attempt of recharging ends quickly with the charger message "error" and does not recharge. I called the Tenergy company to c/o this issue. The customer service noted me that it it already out of warranty ( >90days after purchase), I may have over drained them therefore no longer the battery would not recharge (I was out of home more than 3 mo).I use the rechargeable battery to not only save money but to reduce the trash going to the landfill. Many years, most of rechargeable batteries have very high scrap rate and more or less 50% of rechargeable batteries I have purchased went to the trash after a few time use if not only one time use. This problem is not only Tenergy products but most of manufacturer's rechargeable batteries. D rechargeable batteries are worst. I wish that the company gives some solution to revive or improve the quality by R&D. Still long way to see the quality rechargeable batteries.1 year later, almost all of them do not charge and had to toss up. I now determined I will not buy any more rechargeable D batteries. The price or brand do not matter, simply high scrap rate and not worthy to spend very extra money. Additionally, because of so much scrap quality, all go to trash and those D rechargeable batteries do not save any environmentally.
