Like most of these manuals, they can teach you how to properly do anything you need to do on any vehicle, they have all sorts of information, from adjusting the clearance of lifters to changing a tire. All that being said, if one does not know basic mechanics this book (and others like it) will not teach you experience, and as an ex mechanic, i can assure anyone this is such a helpful reference guide; if i forget one step, following this reminds me of it, but if i didn't know what I was doing, I could see being confused on some things.For example in the section about Tie Rods and Inner Tie rods, to me it does not spend enough time on all the procedures that are required to complete the replacement of these parts. I still give this 4 stars because it is helpful and it is one of the best tools I have, and i understand the authors could not spend a whole chapter on each step of each procedure.I still totally recommend this to anyone, if only for the information it gives!

Chilton's repair manuals have allowed me, for decades, to do everything from minor repairs and troubleshooting, to a complete tear down and rebuild. You can literally follow the steps and have confidence in the end product, that you have learned more about your engine, vehicle and feel comfortable tackling almost any problem. A must have for beginners and experts alike.

Good information

My SVO was stored for about 12 years and needed a lot of attention to get it running right again. This manual was the perfect supplement to the advice I received from my mechanic friend. Did all the work myself and it now runs great.

very usefull, but a little generic. not so much specific info for each engine, vacum a nd wiring diagrams to small to read
