I like to begin my day with a cup of tea, so brewing a cup is the first thing I do each morning. The problem being that I get busy making breakfast or checking my emails and set the tea down and forget about it for a few minutes. Next thing I know I have a cold cup of tea. I wanted an insulated mug, but not a travel mug. This one is what I needed. Pros: The lid. I like how it glides to open and makes it easy to drink from it. I can easily open and close it; no difficult buttons to push or things to pull up on. It also comes apart for thorough cleaning. I can carry the mug from room to room without worrying about tea splashing over the side. I have noticed that some people complain that it isn't leak proof. No where does the company claim that it is totally leak proof. It said it helps prevent leakages which is why I can carry it from room to room. If you knock it over, it will leak, but because of its shape and size, it isn't all that easy to tip over anyway. The handle: Too many of the insulated mug handles are a piece of flat metal and not comfortable to hold and some are rather flimsy. This one is shaped nicely and is comfortable to hold. The colors and finish: I chose the blue and it is lovely. I also like how the coating feels; nice and smooth. Keeps the tea warm for a long time. I have a travel mug that keeps beverages hotter longer, but that isn't what I need for my morning tea. It does keep it hot for the first hour or two and that is what I need. Cons: There is only one thing I would recommend the company add to the mug and that is some sort of rubber or silicone on the bottom to keep it from sliding on surfaces like glass or smooth wood. The slippery bottom could make it easy to knock it off a table, but I haven't done that yet. All in all, I highly recommend this mug.

We get lots of compliments on these handsome coffee mugs. They look great and keep beverages HOT for a long time. However as others have noted the lids are ONLY for keeping the heat in NOT to seal hot beverages from spilling out. Still I love them because I am only using them in my home not my car where spilling can occur. Now, my one pet peve is that the mugs have a metal bottom. On my stone counter tops or glass breakfast table you can hear that metal sound just by setting your mug down. Well thanks to a find on Amazon that flaw has been solved. I found ROUND SILICONE BOTTOMS in multiple sizes that stick to the bottom of water bottles and coffee mugs. A set of two in the correct size was about $5. Easy and cheap fix. That little touch should have come from the factory but sadly didn't. So if you want these cute mugs add the SILICONE BOTTOMS.

This travel mug won't fit in standard cupholder in car but will keep coffee very hot down to the last drop for a very long time. I actually purchased it for home. If you routinely bolt a pint of scalding hot coffee, you don't need this, any mug will do; if you like to sip hot coffee at your leisure you'll love this mug! Nice-looking, sturdy and easy to clean. Be aware that the lid is not leakproof. It will leak a bit if turned upside down. It has a slide-top to expose the drinking port which can be adjusted to wherever you prefer. Only possible downside is it can't be put in the dishwasher; not a gamechanger for me. All-in-all, I really like & highly recommend this insulated coffee mug; it would be a great gift for friends & relatives, too!

UPDATE - Sadly, after less than one month, the mug leaks while I drink. The leak is between the lip of the mug, and the lid. It's happening about a third of the time when I drink. We have actually bought a second one a week later for my hubby as he likes it too. His mug - so far - is not leaking. I notice that his lid is more tight fitting than mine. So perhaps the manufacturing standard is not very high, and the slight variation is now causing the leak in my mug, which is just 3 weeks old, with daily use. I will return mine during the allowed period, as this is legitimately "defective" now. I don't think I'll buy another one. I'm going to try a Camelbak. (It's hard to find *16oz* insulated mugs with handle.) ORIGINAL REVIEW - I would buy if it if fits your purpose - use at home or office, to keep your drink hot (or cold.) But it is not a leak proof travel mug. Pros - nice choice of colors comfortable handle lid slides open/close easily keeps liquid hot (See test info below) (haven't used it for cold) nice big opening for drinking Cons - definitely not leak proof (see video) does not fit in car cup holder not a travel mug a few odd times, liquid leaks out while drinking, but that seems to be a fluke. It doesn't typically leak when tilting the mug enough for drinking Temperature test I filled the mug with 195F hot water, and did not drink from it. I kept the lid closed. These are the temps at 30-minute interval. It's just about as good as a very good travel mug I have. 0 minutes - 185F 1/2 hour - 173F 1 hour - 163F 1.5 hour - 155F 2 hours - 147F 2.5 hours - 141F Note - for comparison against a regular ceramic mug with no lid, the temp dropped to 80F after 1.5 hours.

I don't write my purchase reviews very often, but this mug is SO impressive. Last weekend I needed to run a quick errand and ended up stopping by the grocery store for a little shopping. Before I left I finished preparing a cup of coffee in my mug and did not put the cover on this before leaving. Maybe I took 45 minutes, but when I finally got home, ready for that coffee ... it was still hot! It was warm/hot, but still perfectly ready to sip. Just amazing!

These are great at the office or at home, drinks stay hot for a while. They do leak , so if you don't want them as a travel mug , they are good. Comfortable handle.
