Shengshou 4x4x4 Puzzle Cube Black

Tons of fun, taked me back to the old days. Lol. This Cube is well constructed bright colors and performs wonderfully. Not just for kids, myself and other adults are enjoying it immensely

This cube.... Having solved 2x2's before, 3x3's before and a 5x5 before, this thing was way different. I started the solve as I would a 5x5 thinking that it would be the same. Got all my centers solved and then started pairing edges. Got all my edges solved and started to work on solving like a 3x3. Once I got to OLL I was so confused, and it took me forever to find a solution for my parity. Man, this thing was a challenge compared to even the 5x5 for me. I sat here baffled while I searched online for what seemed like an eternity. Eventually I found the algorithm I needed and indeed it did work. I finish my OLL and start my PLL, and guess what? Another parity. This time the double edge parity... Overall I like the challenge, but I think it will be a while before I enter any competitions with this. The cube turns great, feels great, but has a bit of excess lube on the outside. It comes with instructions to solve, but if you're like me you cannot read chinese. Good thing they came with pictures. I would say once I have the parity algorithms memorized (I think there's only like 2 of them) this should be fairly easy to solve. Overall this is a great cube. Doesn't lock up, turns smooth, isn't super loud, and pieces don't pop, and are actually quite hard to pull out. I would recommend this cube to anyone that would like a challenge. Oh, I also had to remember that red-orange are opposites. Had them backwards during the solve, DERP.

Along with my 3x3x3 cube I purchased from Shengshou I also purchased this 4x4x4 after reading multiple reviews on how the Hasbro cubes fall apart after a few uses. Like the 3x3x3, this cube arrived in a simple cardboard box with no annoying plastic clam shell packaging. I was able to get the cube out the box and start solving it with in a few seconds. Unlike the 3x3x3 cube, this one uses stickers where as the 3x3x3 doesn't use stickers and instead has textured faces. I expected this 4x4x4 cube to be the same as the 3x3x3 so that was a little disappointing. Turning this cube is smooth, but again unlike the 3x3x3, it sometimes feels like the pieces are going to pop out, but thankfully that hasn't happened yet. All in all a pretty good cube which is cheaper than the poorly built Hasbro ones, but I wish they would have made it with the same material than they did the 3x3x3. If they had done so, then this cube would have gotten 5 stars as well. As it stands now, I will give this cube 4 stars instead.

This is a great product for a speed cuber or casual solver. It has great speed and can cut corners quite well. For the price it is one of the best 4x4 around. The only bad things are that corner caps come of which can be fixed with a bit of glue. But the main problem is the stickers. They chip easily. So if you get this cube I would advise you glue on the corner caps and look into getting better stickers Pros: Great price Good turning Very few lock ups Cons: Stickers Chip Corner caps come off from time to time.

Spins really nicely, the squares have a nice texture, arrived quickly, my girlfriend loves it! She even told me it's her favorite cube that she's owned thusfar :)

Hi guys, now you're be reading my review of 'ShengShou 4x4x4 Cube', which is manufactured by Shengshou Cubes and imported to India by Cublelo - 'The Cube Store'. This one of the best and cheap 4x4 cubes available in India. First of all, its better to mention that this is not actually a speed cube. Though it is smoother and faster than many other cubes, but still it is not ideal for speedcubing like the MoYu or YJ ones. Moreover the Rubik's Brand, officially doesn't recommend 4x4 cubes for speedcubing as it has more number of parts than the 3x3. But still, pretty decent cubes at this price. Anyways, lets move into the Product Description..... | Product Description | :- The product comes in a compact cardboard box, with everything on ot written in Chinese. The product also comes with a complete manual, but that also is of no use, as that is in Chinese too. The cube is also covered in a transparent wrapper inside the package. It has 5 normal basic colours, with one colour in exception, which is the Yellow face, that is Light Yellow, i.e., Normal Yellow with a mixture of Light Green in it. The stickers are also full-bright and glossy and hence are not of matte finish. There are total of 64 small pieces in the cube. It also has pretty good weight. It is probably the best 4x4 cube available in India. Now lets get into the Pros and Cons.... | Pros | :- 1) Very smooth and fast. At least a lot better than the Funskool one. 2) Corner cuttings are pretty smooth. 3) The core structure is enhanced and circular, which helps to reduce friction. 4) Spring tensions can be adjusted. 5) Doesn't pop out easily (though with proper or tight screw adjustment only). Piece/cubicle twisting also does not occur. 6) It is cheaper than other 4x4 cubes with a really good speed. | Cons | :- 1) Stickered cube !! Stickers will peel off easily and quickly. 2) A bit heavy cube. Difficult to carry thus. 3) Opening the cube is a nightmare. Its so hard for customising ! There are a lot of small pieces other than cubicles. 4) Gets stuck a lot, even if you unscrew the center screws even by a single little turn. 5) Not very durable. The original brand's 4x4 is much better in terms of durability. 6) Smaller than the Rubik's Brand's 4x4 cube. So its difficult to move the sides. Shengshou no descepciona nunca, este cubo es super suave y comodo, tambien tiene un relieve que lo hace super comodisimo 10/10.

Really nice cube and worth its price It is a stickered cube which may go off by rough handling it came with some kind of instruction manual ( don't particularly know what is it ) it is in Chinese , I did not notice "Shengzhou" on it. However , it is in Chinese . It has nice corner cutting and very smooth
