A great biblical depth for a more advanced Christian
Are usually don’t write reviews. This book has tons of truth in it. I can’t believe how long ago it was written but it’s so reverent today. This guy really nailed it on the head about different thought processes that are still going on in the churches today and in the hearts of many of us take your time, chew and swallow slowly this book I’ve been reading it and studying it for three months because there’s so much to gain from reading it put aside the style of writing and take it vantage of somebody that was willing to speak out about many things. One of the best Christian books I’ve read.

Highly Recommend
An in-depth look at the Love of God. Excellent book! I always enjoy and appreciate Oswald Chambers. His ability to express the truth and character of God is superb. I first read Chambers' book, "My Utmost for His Highest" 40 years ago and have re-read it over and over again, gaining new insight and understanding with every read. I look forward to reading this one again, too.

Great stuff
I bought this for a friend after reading my copy of the 1975 (I think) edition with the pages turning yellow. It's like medicine. Everyone who struggles with the idea that God is a God of love should read this. Excellent Biblical perspective on how God's love can be known even in the painful experiences of life. Why God's love isn't obvious on the basis of casual observation. Impossible to understand without faith in Jesus Christ.

Edifying, challenging, and encouraging
Great amounts of wisdom in this book. Oswald never disappoints with his writing. Definitely worth a read and definitely a book I will read multiple times throughout life!

I feel like this is a preacher who is preaching the deep, meat of the Lord's heart.....Oswald Chambers is my favorite! Every paragraph has a compelling and truthful thought.

Not a book on God's love & Chambers does not write clearly
I did not like this book at all. It was a waste of time. After reading about 60% of the book, I quickly skimmed through the rest. I don't understand how this is a book on God's love. It seems to be that it's more of a book on different ways we can be loving God. Oswald Chambers has a terrible style of writing. There is no logical flow from one paragraph to another or from one chapter to the next. He uses many random Bible verses within this book without telling us his flow of thought and why all of a sudden he decided to use such Bible verses. It's so confusing to understand his mind. I am very disappointed and wish I had my money back.
