Vintage Labels and Other Stories

This is a wonderful collection of short stories, many set in the locations from Louis De Bernieres' novels. There is a short story set in Cephalonia featuring some of the characters from Captain Corelli, another set in the Dardanells, Turkey, and several set in South America. Several have interesting twists, particularly the last one set in Rio, and they are all written with the author's wonderful writing style, wry humour and warm humanity.I have read all of Louis De Bernieres' novels and enjoyed them all - my expectations were therefore high but this wonderful collection of short stories exceeded them.

I bought this as a gift as the cover is especially beautiful and De Bernieres is their favourite writer. They loved the stories and the cover makes it in its own right a lovely object to have!
