Works great does just what I wanted to do and lights up what you’re trying to read
Very good product for older people like a lot easier to read the small print especially medicine bottles comes with an automatic light that as you’re using it lights up to what you’re reading and the screen very good I’m enjoying

Lighted Pocket Magnifier
Here is a fantastic product that is a small, pocket magnifier which has a light build into it. It is small for the pocket, but very large for all the things it can magnify in the course of a day. It folds into itself and it can either be used just to see an object with natural lighting, or it can be pull out completely from its housing and a small light will turn on for help in darker areas to see the object. Great for coins, old stamps, roads on a map, text in a book, and small print on a product label. Another great product found at Amazon.com

Nice, Except for Poor Battery Compartment
Overall, this small lighted magnifier is not bad, although I can foresee problems with the battery compartment which may ultimately cause this magnifier to fail completely. The magnifying glass is nice and clear, and free from distortions. The light provides a nice bright white light when the case if fully open. These two features alone make it worth the price here on amazon prime. The case itself is made of a very thin plastic and one needs to be careful when opening and closing the unit, otherwise damage will occur. Still, it is small enough to fit in a purse or a pocket--being not too bulky but, just the right size. Unfortunately, I do have a few concerns. Like other reviewers here have pointed out, the battery cover is made of extremely thin plastic and one needs to be careful when opening or closing it, otherwise it will crack. The primary concern though is the fact that fitting the three AAA batteries into their respective slots is freightingly difficult. I cannot imagine how difficult it will be to remove them--yikes! And once the batteries are securely in their slots, the thin plastic battery cover fits on so tightly that it has a slight "bulge" to it. This slight bulge makes sliding the outer cover (which exposes the lens and light) over the battery case cover difficult. It is for these reasons that I am concerned about how long this magnifier will last. Despite the aforementioned concerns, considering the price, I am still pleased with my purchase and would recommend it. In fact, now that I own the 3X powered one, I have ordered the 5X one as well.

A whole lot of us “OLDER GENERATION “ have a hard time reading the small print that seems to be on EVERYTHING. Can not even begin to tell you how many time I’ve used this handy little device and easy to slip in pocket or purse. My highest recommendation

Light is too dim but magnifier is fairly sturdy.
Light is very dim (compared to the "credit card magnifier" which was super bright but very flimsy). Field of view is small. The plastic casing is sturdy, but those big grips are only for pulling the magnifying lens out. Batteries fit fine (from an earlier review, I was expecting the battery cover to not fit or be so thin as to fail, but that wasn't the case). But what are the 3 batteries doing? It's like there's almost no light at all.

I take this everywhere I go!
The magnifier is the perfect balance of price, size, and usability. The 3x magnification is excellent for older eyes or reading fine print. I also have a 5x vision, but I prefer the 3x, as it allows a greater field of view and is more forgiving when trying to focus. The light is bright but not blinding, and kudos to the designers for using longer-lasting 3x AAA batteries instead of the weaker (and typically harder to replace) "button batteries" that many similar designs use. It fits easily into my front pants pocket and is unobtrusive for those times when you need some visual help but don't want to scream to the rest of the restaurant that you have difficulty seeing small type.
