Big pins!
I bought these to see if I could use them to secure large t-shirts so they wouldn't "hang" so long on me. They didn't work for that purpose. Years ago, when I was in college, I had a kilt that had a pin just like these! The holes left by these pins are pretty large, so that might be a factor in whether or not you want to get them. It all depends on what you want to use them for. They are well made - but they didn't work for me. I would think that they would be useful for crafters, maybe.

well made heavy pins
I bought these pins primarily to pin up the back of the brim of a soft brimmed hat when sitting back against a tree or the like. They work well for that. I usually wear a Tilley hat and as much as I like the hat, a moderate breeze will flip up the front brim of the hat enough so that it does not protect my eyes from the sun. A strategic placement of one of these pins solved that problem. They are large but they are good for any application where you need to pin heavy fabric. They are reasonably sharp but when pinning heavy fabric they are somewhat hard to push in. Sharpening a bit on a whit stone will help but in large part it's just that they are fairly thick metal. They're worth having around.

SDB Safety Blanket Pin Set Large Size 3 Inch
I bought the SDB Safety Blanket Pin Set Large Size 3 Inch (pkg of 12) to use on a cot blanket coverlet. They are made of heavy stainless steel which is good but the tips / points are dull & you need to use caution when pushing it through the blanket to not tear it. I used a tinge of bees wax to coat the tips to help them enter the fabric easier.

Safety blanket pin set.
I got tired of using safety pins from the drug stores. Seems like over the last 30 years safety pins got cheaply made. They rust, bent, or broke. I mainly use it to use on my cargo pants to keep the pockets locked. these are super thick and hooks tightly and secure. I could find many uses for these. They remind me of the old pins from the 50s and 60s. Best pins i ever bought.

These pins initially appear acceptable. However, upon use, it becomes clear that the pointy tips of the pins were not sufficiently filed smooth and they catch on your fabric/blanket when you insert it through the fabric. You can feel the rough metal when you touch them. I bought them to use with medium weight wool woven blankets. Every pin has this problem, it's not just one or two pins. The problem can be resolved by hand filing with a metal file to smooth them, so it is not a total loss but I would not purchase them again.

Very Large, Made for a Purpose
These are large! I with I had ordered 2 or 2 1/2 size. I will put these to use, in my bug out kit. They will bend out of shape, if you pull the unclosed part backwards.

Great Deal!
I wanted these pins for a project and headed to JoAnn Fabrics to purchase them. Whoa! $3+ for two pins?! I think not…so check trusty Amazon…lo and behold! Work great. Definitely will purchase them again.

Strong but need to be sharper
Works for my purpose but could be a little sharper on the points, making it difficult to push through the fabric, but they are strong so they didn't bend.
