Ed Emberley's Fingerprint Drawing Book (Ed Emberley's Drawing Book Of...)

Great book , loads of fun, great crafting for all ages. Highly recommend!

I bought this for my niece's 5th birthday along with about 10 different colors of kid's washable stamp pads (from an education store and from a craft store). It is my understanding that some of the stamp pads used for "stamping" take awhile to dry and are permanent (not a good combo for kids--I could see them on the clothes and smudged across the paper) GET THE KIDS THE QUICK DRY WASHABLE KIND OF INK! Hampton Art made the kind I purchased. They also make a "smelly" version. Grape, bubble gum, etc. Though this would be a hit, I had a budget. Anyway, you want different colors of ink to make all of the different, fun characters. I put the pads in a box with a black liquid ink pen. She seemed very interested. Her mom thought it was neat and her other aunt who is a first grade teacher looked it over and asked where she could get one for her class. I wish I had this book when I was a kid. Very cool. I would say that this book could be for all ages but is most appropriate for elementary age children and younger.

you wouldn't believe how many little creatures and things you can make with just fingerprints! This makes for great projects with kids of all ages and perfect gifts for grandparents... you could make a card, ordament, ideas for every holiday and everyday, fun for bday party games ... Endless possibilities! This book is great entertainment for hours with artsy children!!! Great for a classroom and good lesson to incorporate science and fingerprinting (forensics). HAVE FUN!!! You will use it over and over again!

I gave these books to two of my grandkids, along with a stamp pad. They are having a great time creating pictures.

Love it!! I have used Ed Emberley's books as a child, with my children and now with my grandchildren. His ideas are neverending, fun on rainy days or anytime.

This book has some VERY cute and clever ideas. The instructions are simple, clear and easy to follow (hooray!) I had purchased this book to use for ideas involving my toddler and pre-schooler but they are a liiiiittle too complicated for that to work well...however for slightly older kids it would be GREAT! I discovered that washable markers applied directly to the thumbpad/fingerpad make one perfect print and then there is almost nothing left on the finger (so you don't 'find' finger prints on random surfaces around your house)...it leaves the print just where you want it on the paper but little mess to clean-up otherwise (hooray again!) Lots of cute creative ideas and I strongly recommend this book :D

I bought this for my 3 elementary-aged homeschooled kids. We love it! It gives clear enough directions (whether the kids can read or not) that they can do it all on their own. It shows how to make the designs step-by-step. There are tons of ideas in the book. These include how to make: animals, birds, silly faces, people, holiday themes, vehicles, clowns, dragons, lions, and more. I would probably buy it for any kid age 4 and up. I think this book, plus a couple stamp pads, would make a great gift for someone!

Ein Buch mit vielen Möglichkeiten. Obwohl es auf Englisch geschrieben ist, können auch schon die Kleinsten das Buch verstehen. Der Grund dafür ist der, das jedes Motiv in einer Schritt-für-Schritt-Anleitung dargestellt wird. Man kann sofort loslegen und ausprobieren und am Ende selber kreativ werden. Gerade für Karten (unterschjiedlichster Anlässe) oder Briefe sind diese Fingerprints gut gegeignet, da die Kleinsten so ein kleines "Bild" am Ende noch "zaubern" können. Auch als Kreativangebot in anderen Kindergruppen einsetzbar (wie z.B. Kindergarten, Kinderkirche, als Beschäftigung bei Anlässen, Kindergeburtstag, ...). Viel Spass beim Ausprobieren.

A good quality book with a great variety of ideas that even a 3 year old can follow .The picture instructions mean even very young children can have a go at the simple pictures.I bought 2 of these along with large ink pads .One set for a nearly 4 year old who is delighted that he can make pictures so easily ,and the other for a 7 year old who has churned out lots of lovely art work following the instructions for the more complicated pictures.An ideal present for children of all ages ..even adults ! Could also be used with finger paints .

Muy buen libro para empezar con los más peques a descubrir el dibujo. Lo recomiendo a partir de los 3 años.

Although I know may of other techniques, i really felt that is book was needed for me to include some more activities for the kids. It's a good book and worth the buy no matter it is for the school or for your kid.
