iDOO 60 Pcs Replacement Grow Sponges, Hydroponics Growing System, Hydroponics, Seed Starter Pods Kits Hydroponic Sponges Compatible Hydroponic Growing System (Except ID-IG309)

I bought these as spares for my iDOO 20Pods System. I was expecting identical ones to those that came with the kit as it is the same company. Initially alarmed at the small thin size - but these are good for the system. I soaked one for an hour or so until it expanded and then it fits the basket perfectly - with the tail piece dropping through the bottom of the basket which will actually help draw the water up and give framework for the roots. The top part sits at the same as the originals. Photo 2 shows the new skinny sponge next to the original kit sponge and then the expanded skinny at the end. Photo 3 shows kit sponge in basket. Photo 1 is the expanded replacement (skinny) sponge in the basket with tail dropping through to water. I haven't needed to use the replacements yet - but am confident that they will be perfect for the job. No need to panic or return as these will be fine once they have been pre soaked.

It is of course a bit pricy but not so much choice that you have. It should comes with the some covered sticker. In which unfortunately - I made it from paper instead.

Ignore reviews that say they don't fit, as these people have the older system and have not read the product description that explains this. These are exact replacements for the newer IDOO system and I have had no issue growing veg in them.

These weren't the size for the plastic baskets I bought!! Too small... my other half always questions my judgement on size 😀

Disappointing .... The price may look very good for so many grow sponges , but they are getting mushy and forms algae in the hydroponic system. I grow vegetables from 20+ years( 3+ with hydroponic ) and never had that issue with other kind of sponges in my kit. When you move them outside ( plant in the soil) they don't decompose so easily . I can still see them even after a year. They are easy to cut though if you need , but in overall a cheap quality. A wee update: I got a refund for it , seller very attentive

I have a idoo and these sponges are too small. I used one and cut the top third off a second one to fill the cage properly. Once the sponges get wet they then fit perfectly and things have been growing well. Obviously this makes the sponges not very good value though and I don't think replacements should be this hard to find for the idoo but at least I've finally managed to find something that works. Hope this helps.

At first I was amiss that these were narrower and longer than the plugs that came with the iDOO iG-310. I inserted them into to the basket and they fell way to the bottom. BUT, after they soak up some water they swell and fit perfectly. It is best to soak them first, then insert. I like the longer length as it will allow succession planting by making contact with a lower water level. The photo shows the size before soaking and after.
