Audio is 48 kHz max
Everything works as it should, even though the remote feels really flimsy and sometimes requires more than one button push to get the job done. The audio output via the coaxial output maxes out at 48 kHz, which doesn't work for my Hi-Res Tidal streaming. It doesn't mention that anywhere in the description, and I wouldn't have purchased it in the first place if I had known that. However, for the price it does what it says and is a decent product (as long as you don't need 96 or 192 kHz audio). It is in a drawer and I may need it for something in the future.

good solution for folks with 2 hdmi output devices and soundbar / optical audio
So as of July-ish 2020, AppleTV first gen dropped HBOGo / Now apps, Tivo did the same (also previously dropped Xfinity on-demand), and even though I pay for HBO through my provider (Xfinity) I had no way to watch on-demand HBO on my nice big TV. Yes, screen mirroring from the new HBOMax app to the old AppleTV works, but who wants to open an app, select content, and control their tv from an ipad or iphone? We just didn't enjoy that experience. After checking out other streaming box options, each of which had one drawback or another, I bit the bullet and bought an AppleTV 4K 32gb - but had to find a solution for its lack of an spdif output. Without that, I'd have no soundbar / sub, and although the TV has great add-on speakers - it's an old Pioneer plasma - I still wanted to see if I could find something that would work.Found this avedio box and my problem was solved. Connected its HDMI output to the Pioneer, fed the Tivo and new AppleTV (with no spdif) HDMI to the inputs, and lastly connected the avedio's spdif output to the soundbar spdif input. Everything worked as expected, and as a side bonus, we don't have to scroll through input selection on the tv since we're only using 1 HDMI on the Pioneer, and don't have to fiddle with the soundbar's audio delay settings any longer. So far - about a week - the avedio unit has been working well. It switches between sources and delivers proper video output resolution to the plasma, and audio to the soundbar. Nice to have the center channel / simulated 5.1 + subwoofer with the AppleTV. The Tivo has spdif out, but we're not using that since installing the avedio unit as it's not needed - Tivo and AppleTV audio both ride HDMI to the avedio splitter.2 gripes. 1 - the remote is not the best, though it is functional - we have to get within about 6-8 feet of the unit to switch sources. 2 - the red power and source leds are realllly bright. Some electrical tape solved the light issue, but I guess we'll have to live with - ugh - getting up off the couch to switch sources. Anyways, this avedio unit does what it's supposed to, and also has other output options if you need 3.5mm (headphone, PC speakers) audio out, plus it also supports RCA / coax, which should work with older style AV receivers. Overall a nice device that should help folks with 2 HDMI output devices feed their TV and audio systems conveniently.EDIT and UPDATE: 04/21 - finally realized changing the battery in the remote might help, and voila, it works from across the room ~15 feet. It had a CR2025, I replaced it with a CR2032 which fit just fine. As can be expected from a technical person like myself, the last thing I changed or checked was the simplest, and fixed the remote "problem". I've switched over to a new sub / center channel setup courtesy of a friend (free! Sony DVD player w/multichannel 5+1 and spdif input but we're only using the center and sub + the TV speakers). It works great. Every now and then I have to go into the dvd player audio sync setup and adjust the delay, but that only seems to be required after a power outage or brownout. Things seem to get wonky after those. Still recommend this setup for people whose gear meets this use case.

Works with PS5 and Xbox Series X
UPDATE 10/3/21 - I am changing my review from 5 stars to 3, because this device advertises HDR support, but it does not work for me. When I wrote my original review, I was using a 4K 60HZ television without HDR, and it worked fine for that setup. I recently purchased a new television with HDR, and whenever I run my PS5 and Xbox Series X through this device, they say my TV "does not support HDR," despite it working fine with a direct connection. I am using the proper HDMI cables to support these functions, but I can't get it to work. Some of the other reviews mentioning that they got it working only have 1 review on their account, so I'm not sure I'd trust them. My original review is below:I needed something to extract the audio from both the PS5 and the Xbox Series X as they both have no SPDIF port. I tried a different device on Amazon that had 1 input and 1 output, and while it worked with the PS5, it did not work when I tried it with the Xbox Series X. Reviews of other extractors had conflicting statements, so I wasn't sure what would work and I took a chance on this one.Thankfully, this one works beautifully if you're looking strictly for 4K 60FPS video output. I have both consoles plugged in, and the device switches between them automatically. No noticeable delays or degradation of video quality, it works exactly how I'd hoped it would. If your setup is like mine and still uses optical audio, this is the extractor you want for the new consoles.

Works out of the box as expected!
Bought this for my bedroom tv to use with my Monitor 1 and using my TV to watching movies without connecting and disconnecting. (Chromecast would bug out on my casting of my computer for some reason :( )It's small, has a remote control for you to switch, and also a physical button on the switcher if you don't want to be bothered using the remote.*Note does not come with any wires so you will want to buy the HDMI to fill in the gap from connecting this switch to your output device.

Excellent Audio and Video Output. Great customer service.
I brought this over 16 months ago (and connected video for my Panasonic 1080P projector (plus a Computer) and the audio is via a HDMI passthrough to SPDIF to Onkyo Receiver via this switch. Both Video and Audio output was excellent coming from this switch (no loss of quality). However a little over a year every other time I turn on the projector the video starts blinking (no changes to my equipment/cables and connections). I tried different HDMI cables and power supply used for this switch but the issue persisted. The only workaround is to power the switch off for couple of seconds and then turn it on again or unplug the HDMI OUT from the switch and then back in. The blinking stops and everything was back to normal (though minor inconvenient to unplug/re-plug). Before looking into replacing it or adding an on/off button for the switch power supply I thought I should try reach the vendor (because this worked great for about 14 months) and see if they can help resolve this issue (may be through a firmware update or something). The vendor responded back right away and sent me a replacement within three days. The replacement switch resolved the issue (no more blinking of video). It nice that they followed up a few times to make sure the replacement unit was received and if the issue is resolved. Have to say great customer service.
