This rod is the best bang for your buck. The rod is strong enough to handle most species. caught so many saltwater inshore species from snapper to tarpon and can also handle bass and peacock. I don’t know who packaged mine but I got 2 for the price of one!

This is the best fishing pole money can buy. I thought it was a 2 piece pole not a single pole. That is the only thing I can say it is wrong with it. I planned on taking it on vacation with me now I can't because it won't fit in my fishing pole holde

I own a local guide service, it's been nearly 30 years now. Why that matters? Because I still, to this day have many of the original ugly stiks I started my guide business with in the 90s. This gx 2 rod is very lightweight with a medium heavy tip and a lot of backbone. We've caught 40 pound cobia on this 20 class rod and have even used it for offshore jigging in 130 ft of water. Yep its tuff! Pair this up for offshore fishing with a daiwa 4000 bg reel, or use it for inshore fishing with a daiwa 3000 bg reel. No matter what reel you choose, the rod is very strong yet incredibly sensitive. No issues whatsoever, love it!

I needed a heavier spined rod for catching Redfish and Black Drum down in Galveston Bay, so I went for a rod that I trust to be dependable. It seems that so many of the more expensive, Graphite rods are Breaking -- I'm hearing that some of them break under light loads, & I can't have that. The GX2 version of the Ugly Stick is a dependable Work-Horse -- yes, they are a bit heavier, but I mostly fish by "soaking" bait, and I am NOT casting repeatedly all day like you do when using artificials. The Rod Holder does not notice a little more weight The next time a big drum makes a run back under the pier, this Ugly Stick should have enough spine to push it back out, away from the barnacles.

Great pole for the money! I've been putting it to hard use on a kayak and have landed many fish with it. Takes a lot of abuse on the 'yak but keeps hanging in there. I love the handle length and action. Will definitely purchase more in the future.

Have multiple sizes in these rods. All medium heavy as I mainly fish for carp and catfish. Strong but bendy. Million reviews on these and not much I can add. Will buy these again as I need more. Great value, great rod!

came broken in half, the replacement works well though. The reel stays in and the tip seems to be fine when it comes to sensitivity and wear. I havent had it for a long time so i dont know for sure though
