Blepharitis Eye Mask - Quick, Simple, Effective Treatment for Blepharitis

The design of this mask, having two faces made from materials that cool at different rates, is a brilliant idea. The quality seems high, however I'm only giving it four stars because it's advertised as a blepharitis eye mask, but blepharitis requires moisture as well as heat. If your eye condition doesn't require moisture, then this is an excellent solution. After you take it out of the microwave, you put the cooler side on your eyes, When that side loses most of its heat, just reverse it an dyou can use it a few minutes longer. In my microwave, I heat it for 35 seconds..To get moisture for my blepharitis, I use a warm washcloth under the eye mask and I heat the eye mask for a full minute. I put the eye mask in a very thin plastic bag, the greenish ones found in grocery store produce departments, to keep the eye mask dry so the flax seed inside doesn't mildew. I fold the washcloth double.Some people have reported an odor. This is just an organic smell from the flax seed. I notice it when I first remove it from the microwave. It's not objectionable to me.This eye mask's design and quality impress me, but.for me it still requires using a wet wash cloth. It just keeps the washcloth warm longer, so I'm still looking for ideal solution. If someone finds a better solution, I hope you'll post it in the comments. There are others on Amazon, such as those with Thermalon inside, that I haven't yet investigated.

The mask was purchased in July 2016 so I’ve had it for a while. There are no prolems with the quaility that a few purchasers has metioned. The first attempts the correct my eye issuse had the doctor putting tear duct pulgs in over and over for several months to not availI, using a very hot wash cloth and several other attempts the doctor sugested. Now I use the mask several times a day. First when I wake up and then throughout the day if my eyes start bother me and again just before bed. Also, my eye doctor suggested that I use Refresh Optive Lubricant Eye Drops, 60 Single-Use Containers, 0.01 fl oz (0.4mL) each Sterile and between the two of them my eyes are no nonlonger painfull during the day. After frequent eye infections due to blocked tear ducts and glands, the optometrist suggested daily treatment of Occusoft eye wash and heat therapy. I was using my microwavable neck rice wrap on my eyes. It was rather heavy, especially with the ends dangling off the side of my head, which felt like an octopus sleeping on my face. So I found this eye mask to try. It's lightweight and comfortable and only needs about thirty seconds in the microwave for 10-15 mins of heat. Start with the plush side against eyes, and as it cools, flip it over to the satin side. This is a convenient size for travel and storage.

I got this for my family member who has eye issues and was diagnosed with blepharitis. I warm it in the microwave for 37 seconds and it helps his eyes. The flax seeds smell nice like a faint natural healing scent. Kind of reminds me of the smell of oatmeal. It is faint. We’ve used this for a couple weeks or more now with no issues.

I have blepharitis (dry eye) and need to use a warm compress on my eyes once a day. I have tried several compress type products and this one is very effective, the most omfortable and the easiest to use. Just microwave for about 30 seconds and put it on your eyes. I had understood it needed to be replaced every few months. So I ordered a new one after six months. But in fact I'm still able to use the first one after nearly eight months. As others have mentioned, there is no strap. So you will need to lie down when using it.

Although this mask is a bit pricey, it works great for warm compresses. I heat mine up for 30 seconds, set the timer on my phone, and apply the mask for 5 minutes. The flax seed moves the mask closer to your eyelids but it is not overly heavy. I suffer from blepharitis (sp?) so I will most likely be buying the mask again as it indicates on the package that it is good for 400-ish heatings in the microwave.

I originally gave this four stars but upped it to five because as an additional benefit, it is slowly shrinking the oil cyst I have on one eyelid. My doctor was going to remove it surgically so this mask has not only more than paid for itself, it has removed another risk item from my list! I would come up with a new listing name for this because I have almost everything BUT blepharitis going wrong with my eyes and it works well on all of them. Plus it helps me relax for several minutes a couple times a day, which is therapeutic in itself. I still wish it had a strap so I could wear it sitting up.

This is a well made eye mask, and I find it holds the heat if you do not lift it from your eyes while using. It does not seem as warm once it is removed and replaced. This item does not have any strap, and the cover is not removable for washing. The manufacturer indicates it will likely getsoiled, but that germs will be killed while in the microwave. I did not find that acceptable, so I have put it inside a thin white sock. It works fine forme, but I would not purchase again.My eye doctor had originally suggested putting rice in a sock and heating in a microwave. That would be a cheaper alternative.
