This is for a 99 Chevy Venture. The basic recently installed aftermariet headlights from the auto parts store replaced badly damaged Arizona originals with dismal output. The aftermarkets had bulbs that were horribly yellow and not even bright enough to light the driveway. Couldn't even see stop signs or speed limit. After much research I chose the Silverstars and though I haven't driven with them yet, after an easy 30 minute swap in the driveway I stepped back for a visual and however much improvement I get for stop signs and speed limit I could see the difference. Appears to give about 200% more crisp white light. I'll update the report after a few test drives. So far I think I made the right choice. I'm not going for swag. I'm going for safety, for myself and others. MORE INFO: 10/30 So I took the car out last night and drove around some dark streets. The roadway was greatly more visible and I took it through the unlit streets leading to the hospital where there are lots of road signs and they were no problem seeing. The light was crisp, bright and white. Depending on you headlight geometry you should get similar results. And if you are suffering to see the lines on the road and the road signs with your weak yellow bulbs you will be very pleased. Mine are 9004 installed in a 22 year old Chevy Venture. Be careful DO NOT touch the glass bulb with your fingers.

Very much better than the sylvania basic without being a problem for oncoming traffic. I have a 2004 grand Cherokee limited came with sylvania basic bulbs they got old to . Turned amber . These are great actually light the curb 150 ft. Brights wow . I figure on low beam only lighting up half of 30 ft not obtrusive. My jeep only adjusts horizontally lens are made for vertical with no adjustment other flip the switch to low beam

Background: I bought these for my 1998 model year SUV which I drive primarily in the winter or during inclement weather. Checking my account, Amazon tells me that I ordered them on September 29, 2010. The Good: I immediately noticed a vast improvement over the old bulbs that were in the SUV. Light output was fantastic considering the old technology of the combined lens, reflector, bulb assembly. It's obviously not anywhere near the light output and control of my other car's true HID system, but it was better than original so I was happy with the improvement. The Bad: This past weekend (November 10, 2012; just over two years after installing) I noticed one of them had burned out. Now just over two years might be a good expectation for some people with heavy use, but I've driven the vehicle less than 5,000 miles over those two years so it's really not a whole lot of use. The Neutral: I've read of some people having these burn out within months, but I've also heard of people who get a long life out of the bulbs. One friend has even taken them out of one car and put into a new car, using the same bulbs for about 6 years and nearly 100,000 miles. So as with anything automotive related, your mileage may vary! Conclusion: With one bulb burned out, I considered buying a completely new pair of "standard" bulbs to try to get longer life out of them. Ultimately, I decided to just order a single replacement SilverStar bulb because of the better light output.
