Got these boots to help my horse after she started stalking up and to help with minor inflammation. I use them almost everyday after I ride. The boots stay cold for a long time, even when left out; if you don't have access to a freezer at your barn I'd definitely recommend these. They do a nice job of icing the legs; once my horse had a little frost on her feathering after wearing these. If your horse has thin hair/sensitive skin you'll want to keep a close eye on them when they're wearing these boots in case of ice burns; the fabric does a nice job of protecting the leg but it still gets very cold. The velcro holds well. One day my horse accidentally stepped on them and I was worried that the gel packets would burst - but they were just fine. So if you have a horse that can be rough on boots this is a decent product to try. Also, they come with a drawstring bag and it's very handy for storage and traveling. I only have three minor complaints: first, they're a little bit cumbersome to get on (I usually secure the bottom strap first, then do the top two, then redo the bottom one so it's tighter) however this could be a problem you'd face with any ice boot. Second, despite the hardiness of the boot itself, one of the velcro straps on mine is tearing a bit where it's sewn into the boot. It still works for now, but I'll likely need to sew it back together at some point. Third, it can be difficult to get an even icing on the leg because of the way the gel packets are arranged in the boot. For my purposes this doesn't seem to affect anything much, but if you had a specific area on the leg that you were targeting it might be an issue. I've found that hosing the leg very briefly (essentially just getting it wet) and then putting the ice boots on seems to help get the leg colder faster and more evenly. Overall, I would buy them again. They're a bit pricey but I suspect that they'll last for awhile; even with daily use they've held up decently. So if you need a hardy, basic ice boot that you'll get some use out of, I'd definitely recommend these boots.
