No, as long as the plants are for the water parameters in your tank you will be fine.

I just add a half to raise the tds

package states 1 scoop(about 3 grams) to treat 20 liters, so... About 11 grams or just under 4 scoops to treat 20 gallons of RO water.

For a 50 gallon tank do I use 10 scoops each time?

I mean to start with if you never used before. I would start with 7 and measure your TDS lvl you can always add more if needed. Then when you do a water change if you say do 10 gallons you would only need 1-2 scoops. I find myself doing just half the recommended dose most of the time.
