This is a great replacement to my Kohler 28 years old shower mixer valve.Replacement was easy.I was wondering why to holes in the back were oval, not round like the original but it still works great.The lever now moves much smoother than the original Kohler.Highly recommended

Make sure you turn the water off and it is easy to replace. Be careful to install it the right side up so cold water comes out first and hot when turning the valve completely. The feel is easy and smooth. It is a great improvement for the old one and a much better price.

Putting it in was easy. Worked perfectly to replace a Kohler brand kit that was only about 2 years old. And then at about 1 1/2 months, it started to drip incessantly. Leaking only worsened to the point where it ran nearly non-stop. Bought a replacement like this one, and it was a bit different and didn't fit in the shower body plumbing assembly. So, I had to buy the Kohler branded one again. So far, the Kohler is working fine..lat less than 24 hrs at least. But the lesson is to not spend $60 and get a generic part Spend all $100 and get the name brand item. This unit was horrible. AND since it lasted over 30 days, I can't return it. All I can do is just whine (there...done). Best wishes folks!

I had a shower that would not get warm. I tore the shower handle off and looked at the cartridge and Pressure Balancing Unit (PBU). Both looked good with no obstructions. I put it back on and still no hot water. The cartridge was fairly straight forward so I focused on the PBU (the part in the back). I removed the four screws and split it in half only to find that the metal washer inside had rusted and broke in six different pieces. One of the pieces was blocking the hot portion of the PBU. I replaced both the cartridge and the PBU. Water works great. No leaks. All for half the price of the boxed stores.

My kit did not come with the silicon grease to help hold the O-rings in place. Fortunately, I had some battery post grease which is silicon based. There was no info as to which way is up on the cartridge so I guessed. I got it all put back together but the new valve only turns a quarter turn which gives us very hot to warm water. Warm being the farthest turn. So it appears to be backwards somehow. Not ideal but it will work for now.As a followup I took apart the valve and found an O-ring stuck inside that was preventing the valve from opening all the way. I removed the O-ring, reinstalled it the right way and now have a full range of motion with cold to hot water as intended. So I increased the score from two stars to four and that's because it was missing the grease.

7 Oct 24- It got to the point, over several weeks, where we could not adjust the water temperature in our shower. It stayed hot no matter where we adjusted the control knob. These parts are compatible replacement parts for the Elliston Model #72783-CP shower kit (K-304) by Kohler. The mixer was causing the problem, but I replaced both parts. The kit comes with everything you will need, except the tools. YouTube has some good videos on how to replace the parts. Best price I could find! 5-stars.

We had a leak from the shower head and initially thought it was the shower head. But later found out that it was the mixer/pressure kit. This kit was 1/3 the price of the Kohler and worked out just fine. No more leak!

Installed valve due to 20 year old Kohler valve no longer mixing correctly. It worked fine after installation when tested. Roughly 4 hours after installation the shower started leaking badly. Removed and reinstalled, added more Tube Lube to all the seals and now it leaks worse. This valve is junk and I would not recommend installing it.
