Step by Step Instructions - Easy to Use w/my advanced 5th Graders! Relevant 4higher grades as well!
I like the way the concepts build in this workbook. Perfect for homeschooling and classroom settings! Each page builds, and gives the Teacher opportunity to add to the lesson, or to take as is. I follow up with my own writing prompts and visual exercises. We are working our way through and am very satisfied with the page-by-page building-blocks and tools provided for learning to write well.I can see this being very helpful for higher grades (even high school) as well for students who need to strengthen their writing foundation. It's simple, but very beneficial!

Good workbook, but quirky
I bought this workbook to help my daughter strengthen her paragraph writing skills. The book is targeted at grades 6-8, and my daughter is in 7th grade. We homeschool, and we have covered paragraph writing before, but since she will be doing more writing in the coming years, I thought a review this year would be a good idea. We are working our way through the book, and it is helpful. However, there are pages very early on that are discussing topic sentences, and then challenge you to write a 5 paragraph paper on the topic. BUT they haven't taught anything else about writing a single paragraph yet. Also, this book is not geared towards homeschool, as each lesson mentions having the entire class do certain items. Not an issue, we make it work, but I thought I'd let others know in case that would be an issue. Overall, I think this will be good review. But if I were using this in a classroom setting as my only instruction to writing a paragraph, I would completely rework the order of the book.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!
I homeschool my 12 year old son and he has a long list of learning disorders. One of them is Disorder of Written Expression. He wasn't able to come up with a sentence on his own until he was 10 years old. And that took A LOT of remediation! So, this past summer, I decided it was long overdue in teaching him to write a paragraph. I used all of the assignments and exercises in the workbook and my son can now not only write a paragraph, he can write something he's proud of (not ashamed) and that he now enjoys! So, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. Highly recommended for struggling writers or kids with LDs

Nice resource for children needing remediation
My child has dysgraphia and I am working with him on each of these workbooks to remediate areas of challenge. He feels good about his ability to be successful with accomplishing a few pages of this workbook each day and I feel like I am helping him solidify basic skills.
