is this oil dGM approved ?

Yes it is. I read the label at my local automotive store before I bought it from Amazon. I have a 2012 GMC Sierra.

where is this oil made? in Germany?

Castrol Edge 5W30 is made in the USA. Only OW30, 0W40 and 5W40 (with European Formula on the bottle, not US) are compliant with these spcifications: Meets BMW Longlife 01, Mercedes Benz 229.1 and 229.3, Porsche A40, Volkswagen 505.00 and 502.00Exceeds API SL, ACEA A3, ACEA B3, ACEA B4. These three are the only Castrol Edge products made either in Germany or Belgium.
