What is density of 1/2 thick: soft medium or hard. Can it support ~7 to 10 lbs , on 12x12x 2". With no more than ~10% or ~20% lose in in thickness?

It is soft. Probably fine for 7-10 pounds.

im trying to put this under a 10 gallon aquarium, does anyone have any experience? about 100LB does it help spread out the weight at all?

I put this under my 55 gallon hermit crab tank for some extra support. Far exceeds 100lbs in weight, and so far so good.

Can i use this foam to replace the original foam on lower heater duct (car interior), since the original is worn? thank you.

I am thinking it would not be suitable. It's really more designed to pad things, like put into the bottom of a toolbox drawer to stop tools from rattling around. I used it on some bass amplifiers, to keep the feet on the amp from digging into the vinyl covering on the cabinets. It also has open "grooves" in the material (alternating between the padded parts) so it would not insulate very well I would think. I would think dedicated car weatherstripping would be far better for your application

Will this foam insulate? I want to make a soft sided cooler.
