Kotobukiya Marvel: Iron Man Mark 45 ArtFX Statue

Wow! This is an awesome representation of Iron Man. I am not a comic book geek or a superfine, but I grew up with an average knowledge of the Marvel Universe and watched X-Men each Saturday morning. I knew Iron Man and his alter ego well before Robert Downey, Jr. began playing him on the big screen. All that is to say that I am not an expert on Iron Man, but I am a longtime admirer. I will not be able to tell you if this is a perfect depiction of the Mark 45 suit without looking it up, etc. This is the first comic book collectible that I have ever purchased....and now I think that I've caught the bug! This is awesome!!! When I ordered this, I was afraid that the colors would be dull, etc. Happily, this figure looks like it is made out of metal and has a great glossy/polished finish to it. The red and gold Iron Man colors are dead on. It comes in a nice box, disassembled. His head, legs, torso and arms must be connected together. Once put together, you can click him into his included stand. His torso contains the battery that powers the light in his hand and chest. The switch for the lights is actually hidden under his armor on his right shoulder blade. The lights glow a nice white color. It took me all of about 5 minutes to unbox him and put him together. I was so excited about him, I took probably 100 photos of him. I have included many of them. I did not color correct or edit the photos so you will hopefully get an idea of the quality. I highly recommend this item!

Very cool statue, not sure why mine didn't come with directions to assemble. Also the left foot for some reason won't stay on.

This statue is amazing. The quality of the paint, the glow of the lights, the size, I love it. I had a little trouble trying to get the arms to go all the way in because it is a very tight fit and I was afraid of breaking something, but once I got them in place it is awesome. It comes with the arms and torso detached for shipping and you have to put the battery pack inside the chest before you put it together. I said it before and I will say it again, I love it.

Man this statue is so dope! Kotobukiya has yet to let me down with the quality paint jobs, and attention to detail. Their statues are all affordable as well. Sideshow collectibles are a bit above my means, but there's nothing wrong with that I can lust for those statues from afar lol! That said I love this statue. I got all excited like I was watching Iron Man in live action again when I turned the lights on!

I purchased this for a friend of mine who is an Iron Man fanatic and for the price I was expecting commensurate quality. We sat around as my friend put the model together easily enough but the right arm wouldn't light up. We tinkered for a bit, one of our friends has a masters in electrical engineering and my friend who received this model and I both to quite extensive modelling. What's more, is we set it on the base to have it displayed without the lighting and the model came undone at the foot (not one of the pieces that was originally requiring to be snapped into place.) I asked my friend if he wanted me to return it and hope that this was some sort of fluke. A week or so later the second model arrived and AGAIN failed to have the right arm illuminate. The instructions warn not to apply too much pressure at the risk of damaging the components so believe me when I say the 2nd model was assembled as gingerly as possible, yet resulting in the same issue. Fool me twice, shame on me.

Gave this to my husband today for Xmas. He removed it from the packaging and it was immediately apparent that the left foot was not attached, it fell right out of the leg socket. Nothing a little glue wouldn't fix but still not something you are expecting from something (supposedly) brand new. I say supposedly, since the tape on the top of the box was not attached so we suspect this was returned once already. After attaching the arms he could not get the right palm light to come on. So back it goes to Amazon and we will try another one. Hohoho.

Item lights up. Eyes and Unibeam and repulsors all light up. Item was not damaged but the right arm light did not work. After some slight modifications I was able to make it work. Very cool sculpt. Very fast delivery.

I love this piece! Pictures do not do this justice. The shine and sheen make it look like metal. When I bought it, I was not aware that it lights up. What a fantastic bonus! Additional bonus, I bought it on sale! Incredible status for an incredible price. I will search high and low for more statues from this studio.

I love it. Putting together the arms is a bit tough but it is really cool when it all come together. Kotobukiya quality is also top notch. Overall very happy.

Very realistic statue and the light up LED's make it very unique. The statue looks amazing, the details are nicely defined, with the final touch of light up LED's to make it look that much more realistic.
