Top of the Line!
This really has a 'wow' factor to it! It's excellent to watch the granulation, as well! After I'm out, I'll definitely purchase again!

Does exactly what is says
Wow - just wow. I use granulating pigments quite a lot in my watercolor work. This medium takes those to an entirely different level, and also makes every other pigment form delightful clustery bits. What I found most impressive is that this medium still promotes pigment granulation on hot press paper. It's now a must have item in my watercolor supplies.

Takes a lot of experimentation
I read a lot of reviews & watched a lot of videos about this product & despite the overall consensus that it doesn’t work very well, I tried it out anyway. I’ve got some notes. Just FYI, I tried this with Talens Art Creation watercolors (not the highest quality, I know) so the results might have been different if I used nicer paints. • When I used as directed & mixed this in with my watercolors, that’s when I got the least amount of visible granulation. • The method I use (pictured) is to place the paint down onto the paper & wait until it gets damp, then I take a pipette & place a drop or two wherever I want there to be texture. If the paint is still super watery, this method will not work because it dilutes the solution so much so that the granulation is barely noticeable. • My method most often achieves a cauliflower/bloom effect, which I’m a fan of, though I understand that not everybody is a fan of that kind of texture. • I also tried this with Himi jelly gouache paints & ink from Posca acrylic markers. After watering these mediums down a little & mixing it in directly with them, they do look a bit sandy/grainy. • This probably goes without saying but if you already have paints that granulate, this solution elevates them to a whole other level & I love that. Overall, I’m giving this 3.5 to 4-ish stars because I really like the effect that my paints get when I drop the granulation medium on top of damp paint. It probably would have gotten 1 star if I kept using it as directed because I felt as though the granulation was hardly noticeable that way. I have watercolors that naturally granulate on their own & was hoping that this product would yield a similar appearance to those if used on regular watercolors. Unfortunately, that’s not the case, but I’m not mad at it. It’s okay, though I probably won’t be purchasing again. It’s a little expensive for what it does. Fun to experiment with though.

Interesting to experiment with
Nice interesting product but to tell the truth I don’t see that much effect from it. Maybe I’m not using it right. Thought salt might’ve been more effective depending upon what you’re looking for in art.

Not all paints are alike. I love granulating paints this allows me to add that to my watercolours.

The Winsor & Newton Water Color Granulation Medium has become a staple in my watercolor toolkit, and I find myself replenishing it every 6 months. As an artist who enjoys exploring abstraction and adding texture to my watercolor pieces, this medium has proven to be an absolute game-changer. What sets this granulation medium apart is its versatility. It beautifully enhances the granulation effect on certain watercolors, adding depth and character to my artwork. It's important to note that the degree of granulation varies between colors, and experimentation is key. I've found that the effect is more noticeable on granulating watercolors, and the magic happens when you play around with water ratios and mix it with different pigments. The Winsor & Newton brand is synonymous with quality, and this granulation medium lives up to that reputation. Not only does it deliver outstanding results, but it also comes at the best price for a product of its kind. The affordability, combined with the reliability of the W&N brand, makes it a must-have for any watercolor enthusiast looking to elevate their creative process. If you're passionate about experimenting with textures and seeking to add a unique dimension to your watercolor artworks, the Winsor & Newton Water Color Granulation Medium is an absolute gem. Highly recommended for artists who appreciate quality and value in their art supplies!

J’ai essayé ce produit sur papier aquarelle et ajouté de l’encre acrylique! Très beaux résultats, ce liquide ajoute de la texture et de l’épaisseur au médium!
