Hellboy 2: The Golden Army

...considering that DVD and Blu-Ray players that play ALL of the world's disks are always available and inexpensive on Amazon! Hordes of people whine about getting "unplayable" disks when the solution to that is so OBVIOUS! For the mere cost of perhaps 2 or 3 DVDs, they can have players that play EVERYTHING!! And guess what? It gets even better! Having that versatility gives you the FULL RANGE of disks to choose from... and the NON-USA-region ones often are the LEAST expensive! And of equal quality! So you SOON get back what you spent on the region-free player! So... it's not rocket science, folks! It's plain as day!!

This company should be responsible enough to not mail dvds to countries that they KNOW the dvd won't work in. What a joke. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS IF YOU ARE FROM USA OR CANADA.

I didn't pay attention to the printing for this product and was unable to use it because it is a DVD coded to play only in the UK. The seller told me I should have paid more attention to the details of the listing. C'EST LA VIE! I hear it's a good movie though.

Be sure to read the fine print in the description. I had no idea this was coming from the UK, or that the audio would not be in English.

Dissapointed it stated it was for my region but was not. Was not able to be used on any machines I owned or friends had.

Not US dvd. Doesn't work on my player because UK version. AND missing one disc. Not happy with this seller

This was the version of Hellboy I liked years ago, but this time I found that, like most sequels, it didn't have that special something that the first one had. The elfin villian, though nasty, was a conflicted character trying to save his race. Therefore, especially if you are a Hobbit/Lord of the Rings fan where you care about the elves, you are conflicted as to how it should all end. The beginning makes me sick so I usually skip that scene. I think Ron Perlman is the perfect Hellboy and many thumbs up to him for putting up with the make-up and gear that he needs to wear to do this role. I gave this movie a five despite its flaws because it is a good action movie, Ron Perlman and Selma Blair are excellent in it, along with whoever plays the 'aquaman' (he got a better story line this time), the sets and costumes are wonderful. However, although my cat loved the first one, she slept through this one.

I had never heard of this comic book anti-hero before but don't let that put you off, this movie is a spectacular occult extravaganza! Go for it!The original movie was very good too but the second instalment I found much better, the actors seem more at ease within their roles somehow, can't quite place it but it just feels better all round...The intro is great, building the story with young hellboy eagerly listening to Fathers bed time story of the Golden Army, brilliant. Watched this with my son and he loves this movie but there are some more intense sense so if you're a parent you might want to give it a watch first just in case.Blu-ray credentials are amazing, picture is crisp and detailed. Sound is perfect, pump up the volume and warn the neighbours. If you're looking for something different I would highly recommend this wholeheartedly.A fantastic additional to any collection.

This blu-ray is razor sharp.I enjoyed this film at the cinema and it has lost nothing on its transfer to blu-ray.The story of the first film felt a little flat but this film, while some might say mindless, delivers a very watchable plot.I won't tell you that it's the greatest acting performance since the premiere of Macbeth but for a super-hero action film you can't get much better than this.Not necessarily for the missus - this is a man's film.Order this at your workplace address and smuggle it home under your jacket.

bought this on blu-ray to make up for the disappointment of the reboot version which is absolute crap. Although I prefer the first film this is still a great film.

Sequels are rarely as good as the original and this is no exception.It starts and ends well then, about halfway through, the writers seem to have lost the plot . The scene with Aquaman and Hell Boy getting all drunkenly soppy and singing a love song is toe curling. My advice, fast forward from the moment Hell Boy offers Aquaman a beer to when they are sober!
