Comfort Cool Thumb CMC Restriction Splint, Right Large Plus 8-1/4" to 9-1/2"

I was diagnosed with stage 4 arthritis in my thumb. The doctor said to get this splint in a size small. I have a very small hand. The medium could be delivered the same day whereas the small would take about seven days. So I ordered the medium to get immediately while waiting for the small.I got the medium and it fits fine, though I think the small obviously will be a little tighter. It is giving me relief at the base of my thumb. I had to cut off the excess from the one strap though. I don't foresee this being a problem because it's stitched across the strap. I've had this on for several hours and it's really made a difference in my pain level this morning.

Revision 04/06/2023: I have both a left and right hand splint. The narrow strap on the right hand splint is separating. That is, the top fabric layer is separating from the Velcro layer. It still works, but is kind of "floppy". I see fine stitching on the left hand splint strap, but none at all on the right hand strap that is separating. I'll probably have to try to put in some stitches or put some glue on the surfaces to keep them together. This is really disappointing for something that works so well.I wish that I could wear these all day long, but that seems impracticable. You really have to take them off a lot to avoided getting them wet and/or dirty. By the end of the day both of my thumbs ache so I wear them to bed. It really helps. Wearing them during a long drive might be helpful, but I really don't drive long distances.I bought one for my right hand and not too long after, I bought one for the left. There are cheaper ambidextrous braces (and I have one), but they don't do it for me. I have pretty bony hands, but when I measured them for the right fit, the Medium Plus size is the one I went with. They seem to work well, so I'll stick with that size.

I have Rheumatoid arthritis and most traditional wrist braces actual separate the thumb joint in a way that can be painful. The second i put this on the pain was gone. It supports my wrist joint and my thumb. Amazing!

this is a good splint for injured or arthiritic thumbs, both I have. I bought another one so I could wash one and wear the other. I wear them for a few weeks and then put them away, they take away the pain for me, and I dont wear them aftewr the thumbs feel better.

Sustained an injury to my CMC. Tried a number of other CMC restriction gloves/wraps with limited success. The Comfort Cool is the best for me. Gives me support where I need it, while allowing me the use of my hand.

These are so much better than the store bought ones that fit either hand. They have a little flexibility, while still providing stability, and the placement is just a much better fit overall (makes them more comfortable). They are a little hard to get on with one hand but doable. My biggest issue with these is that they lack breathability so my hands are constantly sweating. I use arthritis gloves underneath to help but still less than ideal. Otherwise a quality product. I wear on both hands. These were recommended by my OT.

Was pleased with the fit and support. Material frayed around the thumb in a matter of weeks. I have trimmed it numerous times with the same result. Brace does the job but is not very nice looking now.

My sister had bought these from the hospital as that is what they recommended and so glad I found them on amazon. I'm glad I could try hers on first so I knew correct size as they are really work!!!

This was exactly the thumb brace I was looking for..holds the thumb in place but I am able to use my wrist with no restriction
