Q: How well does the mic cancel out surrounding sound?

M300-XT: noise cancellation works amazingly well for callers on the other end. Best headset I have tried so far in terms of getting rid of background noise on the phone call.

Headphones alone, no. Will work if connected to smartphone that has voice command capability.

Q: Is the phone volume really loud? the new android phones dont send much volume over bluetooth, so i need a headset with serious volume output.

Yes all of vxi/ blue parrot has extra volume trust me you will be turning the volume down on the head set just leave volume up on the phone and use volume on headset
