Simple, works!
It is pricy compared to other models, but made right here in the USA. I had a question and the company responded within the day. Small and light, perfect for taking in the field. No app to interface with, so it is good and future proof and isn't going to depend on your iPhone being happy - I'd expect this to last decades with appropriate care.

Rugged and sensitive.
This is the only anemometer I've ever owned so I have nothing to compare it to but it seems very well made and - as far as I can tell - accurate. It's obviously quite a delicate instrument but it's been made as ruggedly as possible and has a well designed protective cover and lanyard. It feels like it'll last a long time.

Anemometer
Great product, with features delivered before time, was alos a cracking price.

I was looking for a simple and easy to use wind speed indicator to be used in developing takeoff and landing performance for an experimental airplane. The Kestrel 2000 fits the bill perfectly. Since temperature affects air density, and must be determined along with wind speed, the built in temperature sensor is an added plus and means one less instrument we have to carry. It's small size and lanyard makes it easy to hang around your neck. So far it's worked great.
