Excellent Cookie Press - Makes Beautiful Spritz Cookies, Comes with a Wide Variety of Designs
The OXO Good Grips Cookie Press Set is a great tool to make spritz cookies. The press is well-made, easy to handle, easy to clean, and it presses out very cute cookies. The set includes a wide variety of metal cookie plates, including daisy, fleur-de-lis, sunflower, tree, bear, wreath, heart, shell, snowflake, butterfly, shamrock, and flower blossom. The plates come with a convenient carrying case, and when stamped out, the designs are clean and crisp-looking. The press is much easier for me to use than my older Wilton Cookie Press. On my old cookie press, I had to squeeze a handle, which wasn't so bad to do twenty years ago, but as I'm getting older, I find I prefer the "position and press down" handle type of press. The press comes apart easily for cleaning, and the resulting cookies just look great. Overall, it's a good quality cookie press that I would purchase again.

Great for Cookies - Won't Work for Making Churros
If you want to make pretty cookie shapes in no time, this is the product you're looking for. I've been a longtime fan of OXO products, they're all terrific. So I had high expectations of this cookie press. It definitely delivers, as far as ease of use, and the end result you get when making cookies. That said, I do have one important question.... Why doesn't OXO make a disc for churros? I came across a similar kitchen gadget that was used to make churros. I normally just a frosting piping tip in a plastic bag for shaping my churro dough before frying. The catch is that I can't make them very thick. And I can't automatically make the hollow churros that can be filled with sweet stuff after you fry them up. Instead of just ordering a churro press, I figured I'd try this cookie press out. So no matter what, I've at least got a really good cookie press. I tried experimenting with different discs, but it just wasn't going to work for churros. It does work great in that you can hold the press sideways, and just click out long shapes (then cut with a knife when it reaches the right size). But the dough doesn't come out as a single, solid piece. At least, not in a shape vaguely resembling that of a churro. That you can't make churros with these isn't a bad thing. OXO doesn't advertise the product as something you could make churros with. I just had hoped that I would be able to do it. I can't, so I just buckled and ordered myself a churro press. Overall, I'm happy with this cookie press. Works well, and you won't strain your hand much, like with some cheap cookie presses out there. So if you want a nice cookie press, add this one to your cart, and buy it today.

Works Great, Just One Issue
I just used it today for the first time, and the cookies as others have said, are small but no problem, they still turn out fine. I used the Pampered Chef cookie recipe which came with my old, broken Pampered Chef press, because I'm used to that recipe which always turns out well. My only problem with this OXO press is the gray button, it's very hard to press and the plunger is sluggish, doesn't move very fast or smooth. I don't know if that's normal or if I got a defective one, but I made about 4 dozen cookies and it's still the same, I have to press the button really hard and the plunger is still sluggish. Otherwise, it's easy to use and clean.

Small but mighty
I just used it for the first time and I’m IN LOVE!! It was super easy to load up (I have trouble with pastry bags sometimes) and gave me perfect cookies every time - I didn’t have any trouble with my dough getting caught in the disk or anything. The resulting cookies are a little small, but I kind of prefer it (you can eat more that way!) and because the press is so fast and easy it’s no trouble to load up cookie sheet after cookie sheet. I’ve only used the wreath shape so far, but I love how they came out!

Broken after 2 uses but OXO treats their customers well
UPDATE—- I contacted OXO because I wanted to offer the company some constructive criticism. I was past any warranty and did not expect a refund or replacement. Customer service was extremely responsive and insisted on sending me a replacement. I haven’t used it yet and most lively won’t until the holidays again. I don’t know if this new one will last long either since the design itself seems flawed, but I appreciate OXO wanting to provide a good customer experience and make me whole. Customer service is 5-stars. ——————————— I bought the OXO cookie press based off reviews and because many of their other products are well-made. Purchased Dec. 1, 2019 - I used it that holiday time, one session with 4 times of cookie dough inserted in the tube, and all the cookies came out great. Easy to use and clean. The press was put away until December of 2020. One session again, loading the tube 4 times with dough, and the press sometimes had to be pumped multiple times to get the pressure right to get one cookie out, but managed to get a good crop pf cookies again. The press was put away and not to be used again until December of 2021. This time, I could only get cookies out after pumping 10 - 15 times. A lot of the cookies came out messy or too little or too big. I managed to get some spritz cookies out of filling it twice, but that was it. The pumping action no longer creates the right tension/pressure, and I can feel the device loosen at the seal where the button is to move the press rods up and down. Because it is plastic with some metal parts, there is no ability to unscrew the rod or pump and see if it's a spring that is broken or misaligned and no way to fix it like the old-school all metal presses.. I am an experienced baker so this is not an issue of the doughs being too dry or too wet or me not knowing how to use a press. It's just simply not a good tool if it fails to work after only 3 cookie making sessions over two years. Marcato, out of Italy, makes a cookie press (they call it a biscuit press) that is all metal and costs roughly $70. I'm going to invest in that one. Sorry, OXO, I gave you a try, but your press doesn't cut it.

Update-1: This cookie press is brilliant. I just wanted to update on the lessons we learned after using this. The most important part is that there should be NO air in the jar/flask. So, fill it up with dough and use something like a small plunger/spoon to push the dough down the flask/jar so there is no gap/air inside it. Sometimes, you are not cooking that many cookies and do not have enough dough to fill it or maybe the last batch of dough is not enough to fill it, then you can push the dough to the bottom, close the lid and press the lever until it reaches right near the dough. If you follow this "no air" rule, you are guaranteed to get '1 cookie per 1 press of the lever' which means 60 cookies in 60 seconds! Since we are following this rule, we do not even need baking sheets now! -- This is a perfect cookie set at a very reasonable price. Before getting the OXO, I would spend around 40-45 minutes fighting with the paper based pressing. Even bought a Martha Stewart cookie pressing set but that was of no use either. OXO was so simple to setup and very easy to use and I was able to get some very nice shaped cookies on first try & I am sure they will get even better with time. 30 cookies were done in 10 minutes! On my first go, I had to press the lever "twice" every time to get a single cookie. Only the last cookie came out with "one" lever press. The issue could be that I was pressing them right onto the baking tray rather than on a baking sheet. In any case, I do not mind one or two press as the cookies were coming out in perfect shape. (Amazon Basics has reusable baking sheets at a good price) The button that releases the plunger can be made better. Its very subtle. You have to push it at the right spot bofore the plunger should be pulled. I think that's where a lot of people are breaking it because if you pull the plunger a bit hard, it will just go through without the button but will damage the grooves and will eventually break. Almost all parts can be taken out & are easily washable so a very well thought out design. Overall, a very nice product that I am very happy with.

This gadget is amazing. No more rolling out dough and cutting out shapes and removing all the surronding dough and rerolling this dough again, now gone tough, putting them one by one on the tray, measuring the spacing between them etc. This gadget is an absolute pleasure. It will save you so much time and each cookie is so perfectly identical to the next with factory type of shape, so much so that people will not realize they are home made! The spacing is automatically done because of the width of the gadget. I really had fun using it. Won't think twice about making cookies anymore. It is a very clever gadget i could not get my head around how it would work and I'm still not 100% sure how it does. It seems that with one click, enough dough comes out so that the seperate pieces join together. It is easy to clean. You wont be sorry if you get it, guaranteed.
