I need a thermostat that can be programmed different everyday. Does 5-2 mean Saturday and Sunday have to be programmed together.

The schedule for this thermostat can be adjusted for to use No Program, 7-Day (each day has a different schedule), 5-1-1 (Monday through Friday have the same schedule, then individual for Saturday and Sunday), 5-2 (Mon-Fri the same, Sat and Sun the same), & 1-Week (all the same).
