Flower Flavoring FTW!
These have always been my favorite since I was a little girl. My favorite aunt would pass me one or two when I was at the museum with her. If you've never tried flower candies,IMO this will be a PLEASANT surprise for your tastebuds.

Love these but they had a weird aftertaste
I usually purchase one mint tin at a time because they’re so pricey but I saw this deal on Amazon and decided to purchase. They don’t exactly taste the same. I don’t know if it’s due to where they’re stored but I don’t see myself buying these again. They do not come in a box. They’re wrapped in 3’s. Not appealing.

Tastes like soap
I tried this out because I thought it would be a good alternative to gum while studying. I don't like the taste, it didn't last very long at all, and the packaging is neither here nor there, but I can tell the quality of the candy was okay. Packaging - top is metal tin, bottom is plastic - weird aesthetically. Causes there to be an unsatisfying dull sound when the candy moves in the tin. Candy - just white hard round balls, kinda powdery-looking but very compact. There's a little chewy violet in the middle which is kinda fun. The taste is complex - at first it's fine and sweet, the sweetness then intensifies and fills your mouth and nose with the smell of old makeup, and it's got a vaguely cinnamon-y flavor to it, which I am guessing is the anise. Again, not really my thing and gave me a headache, but I appreciated the uniqueness of it. Purposes: I don't see this serving me as an after-lunch breath mint. It dissolves far too quickly to serve as a study aide. I could see this waking me up a bit though, just from the novelty of the taste. I really wanted to like it, but I unfortunately will not be purchasing this again.

Very European, with a subtle flavor and a beautiful tin
These are lovely, old-fashioned lightly flavored hard candies (not mints). And they are VERY hard: do not attempt to chew these, unless you wish to help your dentist make another boat payment, nor are they suitable for the same reason for children. The flavor is violet (yes, violets do have a distinct flavor) complemented by a hint of anise - very European, and not sugary-sweet like American hard candy. The violet and gold-toned tin is especially pretty. Great to carry in your purse.

Expensive laundry detergent candy- Choward’s are better
Not as good as Choward’s violet mints. These are sweet and lightly floral, but the violet tastes like lavender laundry detergent instead. Very expensive for the amount you get.

The same candy my grandma always carried
This is the original violet mints with an anise seed in the center. Pure white hard oval candies with a delicious and iconic violet flavor. These are refreshing and take me back to my childhood. They shouldn’t be chewed for risk of hurting teeth, so be careful and treat this as a lozenge type candy. The lovely purple violet and gold embellished tin has a metal top and plastic bottom. Each tin is individually sealed. These tins are refillable and refill bags are available. I love gifting these beautiful and elegant mints and they are always well received. The tin is small enough to fit in a pocket and purse easily. I can never seem to find them in retail stores and usually order directly from the manufacturer in France. I’m glad Amazon carries them and offers this convenience and this set of four tins is a great value for the price.
