TamaTown by Tamagotchi Tama-Go - Green with Mametchi

The Tama-Go is pretty basic on its own, and I can easily see why people find it boring or disappointing. It has two (easily mastered) games, and a few items to buy, but nothing really beyond that. It's a very basic toy on its own. A younger child might enjoy it, but it's certainly not very exciting for an adult looking for a nostalgia kick.The whole thing changes if you get more of the attachable figures. Each figure gives you more games to play, and more items to buy, and makes using the Tama-Go much more exciting. This can get pricey, though, depending on how you buy them. As of this writing, you can buy a pack of ten different figures for about $25 here on Amazon. Individual figures go for anywhere from $4 to $20+.And if color isn't your biggest concern, I would suggest getting another color, such as the pink, purple, or black ones, which are significantly cheaper than the green, white, and blue ones for some reason. Spend that difference in money on additional figures.Either way, this is going to be a pricey toy if you plan to get the most out of it.

I used to have a Tamagotchi when they first came out in the early nineties. I saw that this was the newest version of a beloved childhood toy and decided to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised. Not much has changed over the years. It's still pretty simple, but I think that is its appeal. A new addition is the ability to take Tamagotchi figures and attach them to the top of the shell to unlock new food for your Tama to eat, and games for your Tama to play. I think this is a neat idea. You can also change the face plates on the shell. They're made of paper so I can see them easily being ripped or damaged and lost. All in all I think it's a great toy.

I bought the Tama-Go recently and I am disappointed with the latest version in the Tamagotchi franchise.Luckily, I purchased my Tama-Go far cheaper than the average price of twenty dollars. In my opinion twenty dollars is too much for the Tama-Go considering all its drawbacks, which are listed below:1. The system itself is larger than its predecessor, making it more difficult to carry around outside the home or conceal it properly.2. You have to purchase the batteries separately now. Not to mention the batteries do not last very long; mine died within one-to-two weeks of play. The old batteries used were a hassle to change, though they lasted a lot longer and were included with the Tamagotchi.3. You can no longer name your Tamagotchi.4. A lot of the features on the former Tamagotchis were discarded with the Tama-Go. Instead of the four-or-five games your Tamagotchi was able to play after maturing, you get two games that inevitably become boring after awhile. I also miss the mail system, the ability to acquire certain items by means of codes, the capability to travel across the planet with the purchase of a ticket, and the unique school and job structure.5. Then you have to spend an extra ten dollars just to buy figures that include one shop and two games, after having to spend twenty dollars on a Tamagotchi that pales in comparison to its predecessors. Bandai is obviously believes money grows on trees.6. Tamatown, the online world your Tama-Go can connect to, is also a letdown. This most recent version has less games and fun activities. And I can rarely access the site.I am hoping the next version of the Tamagotchi will exceed my expectations and be a lot better than the Tama-Go.

In middle school these were all the rage. I mean EVERYONE had one. When I came across them on Amazon I had to get it for my 3 and 5 year old. They dont have any problems navigating the menus and taking care of their pets. I have to make sure they dont go to bed with them because they will stay up playing until all hours of the night. Absolutely worth $8

Although this is a pretty great recreation of it, I didn't feel the awesome nostalgia I thought I would for this Tamagotchi toy. Maybe it's just because I'm older now, but it seems as though the games aren't as challenging, there are less items to purchase, and it grows up too fast?

I may be a bit biased, because I grew up with the original, but this one just wasn't as great. But what do you expect for the price? It's not bad though. For those kids who never grew up with the original this would be a great toy to get ( 6-10 year olds) them! It also makes a great, cheap, stocking stuffer!It's also a must-have for any tamagotchi collector such as myself ;)

This item was shipped and arrived very quickly. I was very excited to open my new toy as I told myself to ignore other people's reviews. Despite it's size; this product was overall nothing compared to what other buyers were saying. It is very fun and I love it.

j'hésitais car c'était une version en anglais mais cela ne gêne pas mon fils de 8 ans qui s'est adapté aux quelques mots à connaître.Le rythme rapide des générations est très adapté également à un enfant de cet âge. Ainsi, la reproduction de génération en génération est un + par rapport à d'autres marques comme vtech.Nous recommandons d'autant plus ce tamagotchi qu'il s'accompagne de la figurine, avec les jeux qu'elle permet en + alors que dans certains magasins on le trouve en France mais sans la figurine.Bref totale satisfaction.
