They taste stale, and they don't have the chocolate on the outside, it's not like it used to be. It used to have a nice thick layer of chocolate.

Tastes about like the now extinct Kraft Fudgies
I can't speak for the "original" Black Cow candy, just wanted to say these things are great. I've been trying different chocolate caramels for years trying to find something about like the old Kraft Fudgies. (Fudge Caramels that Kraft would sometimes find their way into a regular bag of Kraft caramels, and were sometimes sold in their own bag.) Those things were a favorite, and I've endured a lot of crappy knock offs trying to find something close. These things are right on the money.

I’ll buy black cow candy again
Liked a lot. The taste is amazing but at room temperature is somewhat difficult to remove from package. If you put in the refrigerator the removal from the wrapper is a lot easier. The cost is a little pricey at about $1.13 each. A box of 24 costs $27.

Not the same
I used to always get a black cow when I went to the movie as a kid. They were my absolute favorite! I have tried to find them for quite a while with no luck. I was so excited when I found them after a 25 year absence. Well...they are not even close to the ones I used to get. They are not on a stick, they did not have the coating that was so fun to scrape off with your teeth, and they are not chewy like the others were. The rest of my family and visiting kids have enjoyed them, but as for me...no thanks. I guess I have to go on remembering them as they were.

Black Cow Chocolate Caramel Candy
Not the chocolate cow suckers by a long shot which was why I wanted them. This was just dark carmel melted into a strip. The Black Cow Sucker was a caramel strip dipped in chocolate, really a big difference.
